McDonald's has introduced the McBaguette in France. This has caused quite the controversy with the French people. Many traditional bakers think MD's is going to make an assault on a signature French tradition. "McDo", French nickname for McDonalds, is very popular in France as well.
McDonald's is just trying to make money like any other business. Pretty soon I could see them making italian food or some other culture and demean that as well.
