With final exams approaching, a student at U.C. Berkely decided to search for unique ways to relieve the campus wide stress. She came up with the idea of "Llamapalooza" which featured eight friendly llamas around campus available for petting, feeding, and photographing. Many students reported that the interactions with the llamas did seem to lower their stress levels and helped them feel more relaxed. Some students noted that, "When you're around a llama, you become very calm and at peace." Students were even taught the "llama greeting" which is when you face the llama nose to nose and breathe the same air. The owner of the llamas explained that "Llamapalooza" is extremely beneficial for the llamas as well as the students because llamas are very social creatures.

If given the opportunity, would you attempt a "llama greeting?"
Personally, I would be a little hesitant to breathe the same air as a llama. However, if others had tried it and had positive things to say about it, then I would probably try it out just to be able to say I've greeted a llama properly. I would be more likely to simply pet the llama and feed it instead.
Do you think "Llamapalooza" could become a popular event across more colleges and universities?
I actually do think that interacting with llamas on a college campus could spread further than U.C. Berkely. Many people like llamas and would be excited for a chance to see and pet one. Other than "Llamapalooza," I think colleges will continue to look into fascinating ways for their students to have a little more fun and destress during their school day.

Good topic choice and well done!!
I would personally try to do the llama greeting. I think it would help the llama feel more comfortable and familiar with me, which would lead to a more pleasant experience from both parties. I think that this type of event could be extremely popular given the success of this one and the llama trend that has been going on for years.
Abby, you're very right! You brought up the good point that llamas have been trending over the past few years which may cause many more students to try and make it to the event. They would enjoy seeing a llama in real life, getting to touch one, and taking pictures with them!
On my opinion this is very interesting and creative idea. Student life is routine and this llama can add some colors in it. Persoanly I like llamas but i think we can use some other animals who is more cut or attracrive. Its has a very good chances to beacome popular between calloeges and universities not only around US but whole wolrd and if it happens each education establishment can have their own animal as a sign.
Oz, I really like your ideas! You bring up the good point that llamas add a change to the boring day at school. It may spark interest simply because it is a change in rhythm and something new to try. What other animals do you think could act as good companions at events like this other than llamas?
1.) I think that I would totally do this. This seems to work around the college campus and I think that I would be relieved to do this. I think that they need to get things at high schools that can also relieve your stress. I think that some kids would really enjoy all of this.
2.) Yes, I believe so. What I think would be cool. If a college has a certain animal mascot, they should use that mascot around campus. For example, the Drake Bulldogs. If they had bulldogs around their campus, every student would be very happy. I really like this idea.
I would definitely attempt a llama greeting. For me it would be no harm no foul if it doesn't go well, but either way you would have a great story. However, with that said i don't believe that it would become popular. This is because most universities probably don't have the time to worry about a group of llamas for their students.
Camden, you bring up the point that Llamapalooza may not spread very far because many smaller colleges can't afford an event such as this one or they may not bother because there aren't enough students for a good turnout. Do you think it could become more popular across bigger colleges only?
I probably would hesitate at first, but I would deffinantly give it a try. It would be super cool to just have llama's around the school, it's a very fun, interesting, and unique way to relax the students during exam time. Events like this should definantly be more common.
I definitely would go up and pet the llamas! They look like soft and fluffy animals and if others are doing it why not hop on the trend. I would be scared if the llama was spitting at people. I think it would become popular in places where people have llamas, because I don't think too many people have llamas in Iowa, but I could be wrong.
