The Forrest

There is a new movie coming out called the Forrest that is based on a true Forrest in Japan.

The Forrest in Japan also is known as the suicide Forrest. It is about 14 miles big and from the top it looks like a beautiful nature. When you are in the Forrest it just looks scary. There are signs that you are not allowed to go away from the path. As fare as you are in the Forrest you can't hear anything.  The sounds of birds and other wildlife that one might expect to hear chirping and chattering in abundance are oddly absent or subdued. The sun just barely shine through the trees because they are really close together. What else you can notice is when you bring an compass that this don't work either. The needle may turn around but won't stop turning. Pairs of shoes, both of children and adults are lined above moss.

This is the Link to the whole story.

Questions:

1.Why do you think there are making a movie based on an "true" Forrest?

2. Do you think the story about the Forrest is true?

When you think it's true:

1. What part do yo think is true? Do you think that all of this is true?

2. Why do you think that there are the warning signs that you are not allowed to leave the path?

When you think it's false:

1. Why do you think it's false?

2. How would you explain the turning needle of the compass?

My Opinion:

In my opinion they make a movie like this to get many  people to the theater that likes scary movies.

I think there are some parts true but not all. In my opinion people might go there to make suicide but this also can happen in every other Forrest. I think that a lot of this isn't quit right. Like the shoes of children's and the adults. Why should there be those shoes. I think that the Japanese might went crazy and just put them their for making a good picture of it and scare people.

I think you are not allowed to leave the path because hikers told that you easily can get lost there.

  • Well done Leonie!

  • I think they are making the movie to be both a horror movie and interesting history/factual movie. I don't really have a complete opinion on weather the movie is true or not, but I would probably go more towards believing most of it is true. The part I would question being true is the compass needle constantly turning. I think there are warning signs to protect people, and keep them in safe spots because it is so easy to get lost.

    • I agree with you! I am also not sure if that is so true with the compass needle... And I also agree with you're second opinion that the warning signs are there to protect people and keep them in safe.

    • I agree with you. In my opinion it feels like they made a lot of it in that forest to make it look like people commit suicide there. But on the other side it also could be possible that there are many people commit suicide because they knew in that forest nobody would find them so fast because you easily can get lost in there.

  • When you think It's true #2- I think they tell you not to leave the path because you can get lost easily. I watched a video where a guy traveled to Japan and walked through the forest and nothing supernatural really happened, but he panned his phone camera and it looked super dense and looked like the forest went on forever. He said that he had to call his friend to come and find him because he got lost. Personally, I believe in ghosts and all that stuff and there are probably some angry spirits and reside there (based on stories I've read), but that doesn't mean that they are attacking people. The creepy appeal comes from the density and lack of light.

Questions #2- Yes. Based on stories I've read, if you go there, there are actual bodies that hang from trees or bones found on the forest floor. I do believe in hauntings and ghost and demons and all that good stuff because I lived in a house that was severally haunted for many years. I've witnessed things like that happening so i do believe the forest is real and the "stories" are real.

    • In some kind I agree with you!! I am not a believer of ghost and all that kind of weird things but I accept the people that believe in it. That's why in my Opinion they also get kind of crazy with that. I never saw that video of the Japan guy that walked in there maybe that would change my opinion I just read about it that people went in there and told stories that they got lost.
