Don't be confused here, people. Let me try to explain. Back in the 1950's there was a series of films based off of a scientist trying to create a melecular restructuring thingy and got his genes mixed with that of a fly. This series ran its course and is only remembered for being the basis of the remake The Fly from 1986. That film had a sequel, though without any of the characters from the original. But now the original director of that film, David Cronenberg, has written a sequel to the original but not linked or being a remake of the sequel. Are we clear? Anyways, he has a script and is planning of directing it as well, but with 20th Century Fox booked with a Blade Runner sequel, two more Avatar films, and the re-release of the Star Wars movies in 3-D, they will probably wait a little while. If nothing is heard in a few weeks, plan on a 2014 release.
