On September 5th, 1982, Johnny Gosch, 12, disappeared without a trace from Des Moines, Iowa. Johnny disappeared in west Des Moines while delivering papers for The Des Moines Register. Johnny has been missing for 38 years and there have been no solid leads to help the investigators find Johnny except a neighbor who saw Johnny talking to a man in a blue two-toned Ford Fairmont. Even after 38 years, it’s still an open cold case. Soon after his disappearance, his face was put onto Anderson Erickson milk cartoons.

Through the years there have been many conspiracy theories about what happened to Johnny Gosch. One of the conspiracy theories is that Johnny Gosch was kidnapped and forced to partake in a child-sex ring based in Nebraska. Johnny’s Mother believed this because she received pictures of a man tied up in a basement. From the pictures, it is not possible to determine if the man in the photos is Johnny or if it is somebody else. Another wild conspiracy theory is that White House Reporter Jeff Gannon is Johnny Gosch. The only reason this theory came to life is that they have similar political characteristics.
In my opinion, this case will probably remain a cold case indefinitely. The case has been going on for 38 years and not solid suspects have turned up. I also don’t think that any of the conspiracy theories are true because most of the time they aren’t true.
Overall Johnny Gosch’s disappearance has had a big impact on Iowa and on the nation. Many laws have been put into place to help missing children get the attention they need from the correct authorities since his disappearance.
1.Do you believe any of the conspiracy theories? Why or why not?
2.What do you think truly happened to Johnny Gosch?

Great topic choice and well done overall! I do think you could have expanded a bit more on the case.
I don't really believe in many conspiracy theories. I get it that sometimes it makes a little sense. However, most of the time there is little evidence to defend the topic. I'm not exactly sure what happened to him but if I had to guess I would assume he is dead by now since he has been gone almost 40 years.
I would agree it would be hard to deny that it is a very real possibility that he is dead.
I think that the conspiracy theories are the only thing that we can look on for evidence or just a way to look back on him. I think that he was sadly sold into a child sex ring and he probably then was killed and his body was put somewhere and just was forgotten sadly.
I wouldn't say that those conspiracy theories are false but I am not sure if I believe in them, I think that we'll ever be able to know what actually happened to him since there are so many different hypothesis. I don't really know enough to be able to tell what I think actually happened.
I do not believe any of the conspiracy theories because of the lack of evidence and people could be going overboard and making things up. I can't really say what i think happened to him because i don't know enough information and the background to make a decision.
Yeah, I also think that they lack a lot of crucial evidence to support them, most of the conspiracies become not very believable.
I don't believ any of the conspiracy theories because they don't have good enough evidence to back them up. I think that Johnny Gosch is just really good at hiding from the public or he may have died in an unknown place.
I personally don't believe in conspiracy theories because of the lack of evidence and how imaginative they might become. I think he disapeared and sadly became a cold case, I can't make an inference on what happened to him since I'm not familiar with the case.
I agree I do not believe in the conspiracy theories as well and yes some of them are quite imaginative.
