This new tik tok trend is albeit funny but ultimitely super stupid. The basis of the trend is a student steals something from their school and then films it to post on tik tok under a specific sound. It started out small with students taking staplers from a teacher's desk or just a harmless tissue box. Unfortunately over the past months the trend has accelerated into taking more extreme items. This has become a problem across schools in the United states. Several videos have been posted of students filming a faculty member yelling over the intercom or asking students to stop and return any stolen items.
Although some of these videos are most likely satire the majority isn’t and could cause huge legal issues with schools and students. I personally thought these videos were funny in the beginning but I think people are taking it too far. Some even stole people's phones and a tire from their principal’s car.Below are some examples of the tik tok trend.
What do you think about this trend? Have you participated and/or know anyone who has?

Great topic choice Aila! The issue is that it is three days late(-30-Ten points per day) and you didn't reply to any student comments(worth 30 points).
I personally think the trend is funny, eventhough kids are going way to far with it. I've seen videos where kids have taken smartboards, projects, the majority of bathrooms, and even a subway sign. While I still think the trend is funny, I personally dont know anyone who has participated in the trend.
I thought this trend was kinda funny when i first saw it but now people have taken it to far and are literaly just stealing things from schools and vandalizing schools. I think this trend needs to come to a end because it is not that funny anymore and people are being dumb with it.
Though I can't say that I know anyone who has stolen a toilet, I do know It's hilarious to know that people are just taking assive objects. It is starting to go a bit too far. I'm just happy it's not a dance or another song that will conquer the radio.
Personally, when I first saw this trend I thought it was funny and an innocent trend. Although, since then this trend has escalated and gotten way worse and I think it should come to an end. Because, some people could get in serious trouble for it if they take something that was really important that they weren't supposed to take. All in all, even though this trend might be funny it's not worth getting in trouble for.
At first I thought the trend was sort of funny and was more of just a joke but now its getting a bit out of hand. People need to stop stealing things and be respectful. Even though the trend is funny and the videos are funny it probably needs to stop sometime soon.
I at first thought nothing of this trend when people were taking small things like pens but this tren got out of hand very quickey. The more things kid take the worse it will get. This trend has now just become very disrespectful game. I do not know of anyone has done this themselves I have only seen the videos.
Personally, I think the trend is beyond funny, but I wouldn't disagree with the fact that it's defintely gotten out of hand. This trend goes a little farther than just a dumb dance, or anything in that sort. If it's going to the point where people's property is because physcially stolen, then a stop needs to be put to this trend. Even though it's not right to take other people's property, I feel that people need to recgonize that this trend will run it's course like every other trend has, and people will eventually become bored.
I thought in the beginning it was funny, but now it's gotten completely out of hand. This trend can and will lead to lots of problems for schools and the students. This trend is very disrespectful to the schools and people in them as well.
I think that in the beginning it was funny, but now that it has escalated this much I think that it should stop. Now it is just disrespectful and as you mentioned, there can be legal consequences. I do not know anyone who has participated in this trend.
