The Declaration of Independence was a very important part of American History because it contains the goals and ideals of our nation. There are four parts of the declaration, starting off Preamble. This contained reasons why we were separating ourselves from Britain. Secondly, the Declaration of Natural Rights. This explains that in a republic the government is there to protect the rights of the people, unalienable rights cannot be taken away. Third, List of Grievances. This was a list of the colonists complaints about England, specificalling blaming King George. Lastely, the Resolution of Independence, which declares colonies "free and independent", includes the signatures of the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence consisted of 56 signers. When this document was approved by congress, it announced the separation of the North American British colonies from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence is important in my opinion to celebrate America's freedom. I think the Fourth of July is patriotic and a good time to look back on those who served. The 4th of July is also important to bring families together and teach the younger generation of how great it is to be an american, and to have the freedoms we have been given.
Questions:
- Do you think that we would have been able to break away from Great Britain if the Declaration of Independence was never approved?
Yes, even though the world today might have been different I believe that we could've broken away from Great Britain over time.
- Do you believe that the Declaration of Independence was an important part of our history?
Yes, 100%. The history of the declaration will continue on for many generations, spreading the word on how America is the way it is today.

Good job overall Kenzie. The one issue is that your sdummary is a bt brief overall.
I think that the existence of the decleration of independence is very important for making the US the way it is today. It pointed out that people should have many of the rights we take for granted today, and it set the bar for the entire focus of the US's history. It made our morals clear and our objectives obvious, and it is a very important part of our history.
Yes, just because we wouldn't have a declaration of independence, it doesn't mean we wouldn'tve still broken away from Great Britain. The relationship just got worse until the U.S. wanted independence. Yes, I do think the Declaration of Independence is very important because it shows that we became our own country and there is artifacts to show it.
I definitely think that the Declaration of Independence is important, however, Britain basically ignored it to begin with and we went to war. It's definitely important to the history of America and how we developed. I don't 100% agree with everything or how it was written in the actual letter. (Because let's be honest, those guys owned slaves and were all rich white men.)
Yes, it did take time for others to understand what was happening and that history was being made. The Declaration of Independence is definitely something important in our nation's history, but the written letter wasn't 100% agreeable for sure.
Yes, I think that eventually we would have been able to break away from Great Britain if the Declaration of Independence was never approved. Although if it wasn't approved, our country would most likely not look like it does today. I believe that the Declaration of Independence is an important part of history.
I agree with you. The Declaration was something that had a major impact on not just us but the world. Our country today has come a long way and is continuing to grow everyday.
Eventually we would have most likely broken away from them but it could have been years and years down the road and would change heavily on where we are today. Yes it is one of the most important documents in our history, it guided the US to to freedom and where we are today.
If not for the Declaration of Independence we would have been under Great Britain for a while and eventually broken away from their power is my prediction. It's hard to predict something that big and what our nation would look like today without it.
Sooner or later America was going to become independent from Great Britain, since they had more military strength and more territory, an ocean also separated them, obviously the declaration of independence was important since it marked a before and after in history,
