For those who do not tknow what the coronavirus is, it is a very contageos RNA virus that causes a variety of diseases in humans and other animals. The total death toll of the coronavirus globaly is over 1,000 deaths. The new coronavirus that's sickened more than 42,000 people in China now has an official name: COVID-19, which stands for - coronavirus disease that was discovered in 2019. For now all we know is that the coronavirus is highly contegeous, causes respiratory illnes and pnuemonia,and is spreading around the worl at a rather fast rate, also symptoms are almost identical to flu symptoms so its is very hard to find or catch if a patient has it.
How is the coronavirus affecting those who are traveling and trying to get home?
Most flights to america are cancelled or are being held there so the virus will hopefully stay contained.
Families on cruises that have recently come back to the mainland are being held on the cruise ships and are not being allowed on land.
How are people at home in china being affected?
The leader of Hong Kong has ordered all residents to remain in their homes "as much as possible".

I think many people aren't allowed to go back home or visit their family, because they don't want others to bring it to other places. This can affect many families if they need to get back to their jobs or school. People who live in China are more than likely staying at home staying safe or working and praying they don't get this horrible virus.
