"The Bus Brother"

It started with Santa Clause and ever since then he has dressed up. Noah Tingle, a 17 year old highschooler decided that it was time for him to make some memories. He needed to come up with an out of the box idea that would get people talking and be a lot of fun for his younger brother. So with this in mind, he decided to start dressing up and waiting for his brother to be dropped off by the school bus. He would sit in front of his house, waiting until his younger brother, Max, would hop off the bus. It started in mid August and has been going ever since. The original idea was for the whole concept to embarrass Max and then it just grew into a funny joke. As Noah knew he would be going off to college next year, he thoroughly enjoyed making memories with his brother even if it was a little embarrassing. Noah never intended for the whole joke to blow up, but it did. Now here he is with 15,000 followers on facebook, countless news stories and lots of fame. The two brothers no longer see the embarrassment, but the fun in making memories and having a good time.

Questions:
1) Would you like the fame from this, or continue being embarrased (and why)?

2) What would you do instead of dressing up to have fun with your younger sibbling?

3) Do you think this is funny or not (and why)?

  • Fun story choice! Be sure to include your personal voice within your summary and also be sure to comment on three different days.

  • I think it would be a fun thing to do to a sibling to mak ememories like these to boys did. I would maybe put funny signs in the yard and crazy things that would make people laugh. I think this is funny cause it sounds like somthing that would make me laugh.

    • I see your point Connor. I could see how it could be fun maybe if you were the one pulling the pranks. However, I would not want to be the younger sibling. I just think it would be pretty embarrassing and humiliating. I kind of hate the idea of going to the work of doing this every single day. With that said, good for them that they are sticking with this and gaining fame, but I would not do it.

  • I do not think I would do anything instead of dressing up. I don't have a younger sibling but if I did dressing up and joking around with them would most likely be something I would do. I think it's a sweet thing and I would have the most fun with my sibling that I could before leaving for college.

    • I can see your point Jenny. I do think that this could be seen as a sweet gesture but I also don't think that I would find it enjoyable. It would be very embarrassing and that is just not my idea of having fun. If there was another way for us to make memories I would be all for it. I would choose to go to a movie, play with animals together, go to dinner etc. I wouldn't want one of my sisters spending time and money on something kind of lame like this.

  • I think that it is a nice, sweet idea to do for your brother, and if he was fine doing it in the first place, he would most likely think that it's cool he got fame from it. I think that it would be a nice thing to be know for since you're just having a good time.

  • I dont think i would get embrassed over my brother waiting for me at the bus stop with a funny costume and i dont really think 15,000 followers is that much fame. I dont have a younger sibling but my older brother would always drive me around and show me cool places.

    • I am the opposite. I have two older sisters and I would hate if they did something dumb like this to me. Waiting for me to get off a bus in a costume I think may just be lame and a waste of time and money. This joke would not be my way of making memories and it really wouldn't be fun. I do think that 15,000 followers is quite a bit of fame, but it just would not be the way I would want to get followers. This is just my opinion and me being honest.

  • Being famous for something like this sounds hilarious to me and I would love doing after coming over my initial fear and embarrasment. If I didn't dress up, I'd probably give the kids a bunch of satirical facts that were completely meant for making my younger brother laugh. This is especially funny to me when I think of the big brother paying for all of the clothing and how much of a commitment it would be to pull of. It makes me respect him even more.

    • Haha, I think that you may be right. Maybe one could get over the embarrassing factor, I just don't think that I could. Like I have said many times, this just isn't a joke I would want to be apart of, I would rather find something that is more enjoyable. To me, making memories would be by going to movies, eating dinner together, etc. I wouldn't want to spend the time and effort to dress up every day just to be made fun of.
