-Both of them are good for you!

-Research says, enjoy the steak!

4. High-Fructose Corn Syrup is more fattening than regular sugar.

-They're equally fattening.. watch out!

5. Too much salt causes high blood pressure.

-Pherhaps, but too little potassium can also cause high blood pressure.

6. Chocolate bars are empty calories.

-Dark chocolate is a health food!

7. Gas Station snacks are nutritional nightmares.

-Even at filling stations, you'll find food that isn't filling..

8. Restraunts comply with nutrition disclosure regulations.

-Most restraunts would rather load you up with cheap calories.

9. Sports drinks are ideal after-workout refreshments.

-You need more than that to keep your muscles going!

10. You need 38 grams of fiber per day.

-More fiber is better, but 38 grams is nearly impossible.

11. Saturated fat will clog your heart.

-Fat has gotten a bum rap.

12. Reduced fat foods are healthy alternatives.

-Less fat often means more sugar.

13.  Diet soda is better for you.

-It may lead to even greater weight gain!

14. Skipping meals may help you loose weight.

-Skipping meals, especially breakfast, can make you fat.

15. You should eat 3 times a day.

-Three meals and two or three snacks is ideal.

  • Wow, that is quite some list. I may have to inform my parents on some of those. just to prove im right on some.
  • Good to hear that steak is good to go! And I didn't know not eating breakfast could make you fat.. I should probably start eating before school.
  • I pretty much knew all of these facts since i am into health and things like that. My advice is to stick to regular foods but eat a reasonable amount.
  • I knew about the skipping breakfast thing can make you fat.. When you skip breakfast, it makes you more hungry during the day, which makes you wanna eat more. And I always put a butt load of salt on most of my food like it's my job.. Haha maybe I should cut back..

  • I think I knew most of these but I don't much care for "dieting". I'm 16, I don't watch what I eat.

  • These are pretty good tips that most people don't know about. It's interesting that some of these tips are completely opposite from what most people think.
