A fertilizer plant exploded Wednesday in Texas. Police aren't sure yet, but think that the number dead is close to 15. More than 160 injuries were accounted for. 3 to 4 firefighters were also missing. The cause for the explosion is yet to be determined. With all the chemicals floating in the air, safety precautions are being taken to make sure they don't do harm to people.
I think this is really sad, and i hope all the people who were hurt in this get better.

this is such a sad story with that many deaths! i hope they figure out what caused it.
This is sad. I watched the video of the little kid in the car with their dad when the explosion happened, and it was really scary. It made me jump! I hope everyone now is okay and the fire fighters are still alive. It is scary to think that something like this could happen.
This is very sad! and I hope all the people that are hurt have a fast recovery! And figure out what went on, so it don't happen aagain.
i think this is very tragic. the news stations don't cover it too much. they are too focused on the marathon. they only need to cover things i think when they are developing. not reptitvinly. i think this needs to be mentioned more. more lifes were lost.
This is a very sad tragedy that occurred a few days ago. I feel bad for all the lives that were lost, and also for the people who lost someone they loved. This was unexpected, but there is also the side of "could it have been prevented?" I wonder why they would build a nursing home and school so close to the factory though!
Holy Cow! I hope people are getting better. But hopefully they'll get those chemicals taken care of.
It seems like America just can't catch much of a break lately. The Boston Bombing and then this explosion. It's crazy how a fertilizer plant explosion could cause just as much damage as a couple of bombers, but we would never think of a fertilizer plant as something as dangerous as terrorists.

This is a terrible accident! I didnt think fertilizer could do something like this! its really sad
We saw this video the other day in CWI, this is so scary. I can't even imagine how loud that explosion would have been for the people that were right there. I think that since it was a chemical plant, it should have had some massive fire retardant system to stop this exact think from happening.
