A gunman with a riffle opened fire with about 30 bullets in a cafe where a cartoonist was giving a speech about freedom of speech in the presence of ambassadors from others countries. Some of the cartoonist's drawings were about the prophet Muhammad and have received bad reactions and threats from upset muslims. One person was killed and two police officers were wounded.
A few hours later, a shouting happened in a synagogue in the same city killing one person and hurting 3 police officers this time. The killer was wearing a guerrilla scarf.
The police asked the residents to stay off of the streets and is now searching for the two shooters.
Do you think cartoonists in Europe should be protected or should stop drawing about the Prophet Muhammad as the muslims terrorists are getting really angry ?
What would you do if someone was making fun of something very important to you but it is still allowed by the law ?

I don't think they should be protected. I think it;s their fault for writing about it, they know what happened to the other cartoonist. Do I think they should be killed for it? no. If someone would make fun of something important to me I would definitely not take it as far as they do. I might be offended but not enough to take a life.
I think it would be expensive to protect every single cartoonist but I think that some of them should be protected.

i think they should keep doing there drawings and be protected. i wouldn't get super mad if someone didn't like something i was doing but i would get mad if they tryed to hurt me because of it.

I think they should to save their lives and maybe others too. I would get upset but not this upset.
I think that maybe now the cartoonist should be protected and others because of what happened. But also I think that if the people are getting mad because they are pretty much making fun of their prophet, then instead of more problems happening the people should stop what they are doing and not cause problems. I would not go to this extreme if someone was like making fun of something I liked, but I would want to try and put a stop to it. I do not know for sure what I would do, but if it was something not to serious just maybe talk to the person.

I think the cartoonist should keep doing what they're doing. If they stop then they are basically letting them win. If the law said it was okay then I guess I would have to get over whatever it was I was miffed about, I mean it probably wouldn't be the end of the world for me.
