Teen Kills Himself Over A Skype Call.
This article gives you an idea of how mean and manipulative some teenagers can be. A boy killed himself after what he thought was a Skype call with an American girl his age. Somebody recorded their call and threatened to show all of his family if he didn't give them money. Daniel instead killed himself by jumping off a bridge a month ago. Another girl committed suicide after being bullied on a website called ask.fm which is a website where people ask people questions anonymously. She had questions about the skin condition(eczema). I think that the way people are treating other people on the internet is horrible and that something should be done about it. What do you guys think could prevent kids from killing themselves because of something on the internet?

That's a sad story. I think maybe the best way to prevent kids from killing themselves from bullying on the internet is to just stay off those type of internet sites, because then nothing would happen. I hope internet bullying will come to a stop.
It sucks that people have to stay off internet sites just because they could get bullied though.
No one will remember what you wore yesterday, what your hair looked like, but they will remember how you made them feel. I think, instead of schools encouraging and teaching you how to handle bullying, they need to focus on teaching them not to bully.
Good point! I never even thought about that.
This is just terrible! Cyber bullying is one of the worst types of bullying's in my opinion. Even just making one mean post about someone can make them do something crazy like committing suicide. I really think from preventing this is to always have a private account because you never who is out there.
I think a lot more people are starting to get private things, and a lot of teens are even deleting their accounts because of bullying.
I agree with you Jake. The government is so focused on stopping violence that they don't realize the root of the problem has a lot to do with the internet. Where walking away from the computer is a good thing so you don't read anymore hateful comments, its still hard for people to get over what they already read. If people would just stop hating on everyone for everything they do, and at least try to be nice a lot more people would still be alive today.
I think that you make a good point about it also being hard to just get up and walk away. Sometimes its hard to be the bigger person.
Well yes it is a bad thing but I mean do the kids these days not know how to get up and walk away from the computer? The government already looks in on our phone calls and computer usage so why cant they do a little good while creeping on us and help out cyber bulling and other computer related incidents.
That's true! haha.
