In Carter Lake Iowa a Omaha mother had been told her son had been run over. She was not sure if her son would make it. Police informed the mother that the driver was intoxicated when he crashed into her son, and two others on Friday night. After Deikun Iwen was released from the hospital he spoke with Sarah Fili from KETV News watch 7. Iwen had saw the driver earlier in the night claiming that he thought the driver was infact intoxicated. Iwen said that what he didn't know about that night, was that the inxoicated man would get in behind the wheel and run him over.
At 11:20pm a illegal race was about begin on Abbott Drive. A man standing in the median near Crown Point ave, noticed a car heading towrd the stopped car and motorcycle, when the driver lost control. A Honda driven by Daniel Ramirez, 29 barreled up and over the median into three people standing on it, sending 2 of the 3 to the hospital.
1. What are your thoughts on drunk driving?
To me, drunk driving is just plain stupid. I wish people would stop doing it, and get a Cab or Uber. There is some people in the world though that think that driving drunk makes them a better driver.
2. If you were this teenager what would be your thoughts on the situation?
If I was this teenager I would be so thankful to be alive. I would spend more time with my parents and other family and start to relize that life is actually pretty short.

I think that drunk driving is one of the worst things you can do. Not only are you putting your life in danger, you're putting other peoples lives in danger too. If I was the teenager I would be happy to be alive, but also mad at the person who hit me and my friends. I would also probably avoid walking places especially at night or somewhere far away.
I think it's stupid an shuldent be done but their is not much we can do to regulate. I would be angry gut glad i didn't die and atry and avoid walking around at night.
1 - Drunk driving is stupid and pointless. It makes me wonder how people mange to get into a car and drive around, like what were they thinking. It's almost like everything you knew about drunk driving just goes out of your mind and you decide it's fine, and of course that's what drugs can do to you. If you are out having a good time, that's alright but afterward find a friend who is able to drive and make sure everything is safe.
2 - I would consider myself very lucky. The fact that this happened is sadly more common now than it has before, and to be alive after the fact would be great for the family, and the teenager.
I absolutley agree with you because if they are havig a good time they should find a friend who hasn't been drinking and make them the desegnated driver. Also I honestly don't know what goes through most peoples minds when they decide to drive intoxicated, but whatever it is they should think it through again
I think drunk driving is very stupid and not the smart thing to do at all. I also think the punishments of drunk driving should increase to really get the message across to people that it is serious and very stupid.
I would be very angry because if someone hit me while they were drunk and driving I think they should be chargd with serious offences and be put in jail for a long time too.
I agree with you that drunk driving is a very serious matter, not only the one under the influence is in danger but also everybody else driving and by the road. I also agree that the legal consequences need to be raised to ensure that people understand the extent of the danger when driving while drunk.
I think that it is stupid, useless, and should result and lots of jail times as it sometimes already does. I feel like most peole should just use the modern technoology given to us to use in our favor such as lyft and uber. I would definetely be sorry that I did what I did and WOuld pray for the forgivness of others and to try and forgive myself.
I think that drunk driving is stupid. Personally I know people who have been injured by a drunk driver. There are different ways to prevent yourself from driving drunk but people still think that they are 'fine' to drive. If I was the person in this situation I would be grateful to be alive, but mad that the situation happened altogether.
In my opionion I don't think drunk driving is something cool to do, and driving drunk dosen't only effect you its also effecting your passengers and other drivers on the road. If that was me in that situation I would be so scared that I would lose my parents and I would feel like I let them down even though it wasn't my fault. I also wouldn't take my friends and family for granted.
