Philip Chism of Massachusetts was accused of raping and murdering his math teacher on a Friday afternoon after school. The security cameras monitoring the school captured evidence of Philip Chism following Colleen Ritzer, the math teacher into the bathroom. The student was wearing a sweatshirt with the hood up. He was seen leaving this bathroom several times. Almost thirty minutes later cameras show Chism leaving the bathroom but this time he was wearing a black face mask and pushing a recycling bin. Later Ritzer’s body was found in the woods behind the school. Danvers police say Ritzer had been raped with an object and her throat was slashed. Next to her body was a hand written note that said “I hate you all.” The witness that was in the classroom after school on this day had said Chism had started to get very upset when the teacher started to talk about his hometown, Tennessee. Chism might even be tried in adult court.
Do you think his motive for this murder was that she talked about his home town? Or do you think there is something more behind his reasoning for killing Colleen Ritzer. Do you think Chism should be tried in adult court or not?

I think he should be tried as an adult. He killed someone! That is just crazy, I cannot understand why people now a days think that is ok.
I agree its wrong at any age you do it! Especially to not even have a real reason. Its just wrong and i'm sure Colleen Ritzer's family with get their justice in the end. Even though that wont bring back their daughter it might give them a little bit of closure.
This is really sad and I don't know if him being mad about her talking about his hometown was the reason he was mad because it seems really sick that he would do that to someone just because of that. I think he should be tried in adult court because what he did was terrible.
I think for any reasonable person there would have to be more motive but then again, what reasonable person would rape and kill someone? I think he should be tried as an adult.
I think that when he got angry he wanted to get attention that he wanted to go home so killed her but that is not an excuse to kill somebody.
I think that there was likely something more than just his hometown involved in this case. Even if there wasn't, its still crazy that he would kill her. No matter what the situation was this was taking it too far. Any case involving rape and murder should be tried in an adult court.
I think there has to be more than talking about his hometown for a motive to kill her. I also think that he should be tried as an adult because of the severity of the crime.
People are messed up these days, killing somebody just because they talk about your hometown.
This is nasty, to rape an innocent young ladie who is trying to help you in life and then kill them. Who does this? Especially when he thinks he's getting away with it. I hope nothing like this happens every again.
