A freshman had walked into the crowded lunch room of a Washington high school not far from Seattle and opened fire on his classmates. Four people were injured on the scene and almost all of those were in critical condition. One student had died on the scene. Saturday a second of the five students involved in the shooting had died. The families of the victims are obviously distraught but the only question they have is why?
I think that this is another sad story along with many others. If I were a parent of one of the students I would want to know why he did it as well.
What do you think was his reasoning behind it? How would you react as a parent?

Could have been on drugs? hard to tell why anyone would do that if they were in there right mind. I have no idea how I would react but I think he should be put away in a mental institute or something because he needs help.
I hadn't heard that the girl that he liked also liked his cousin. That could have contributed to his reasoning but its all speculation.
It is now being said that the shooter was angry at his cousin, who was also shoot, because the girl the shooter liked picked his cousin over him. There was a love triangle going on and he didn't like how it ended. The second victim was the girl he liked. As a parent it would anger and sadden me that a teen took something like this to this high of level. He should have talked it out with some one who would have listened.
I think that its very hard for the parents of the child as well as the other children involved to deal with what happened.
I agree that we can't know what caused him to do it. I think that it was probably an accumulation of all the things you guys have said.
I think it was because he was jealous of his cousin. I would be so sad if I was the parent and I wouldn't know how I would be able to move on with life.
He could have been dealing with anything. You never know what goes through these people's minds before they do it. If I was a parent, I would obviously be sad and I would also be wandering why would he do that?
There could pof been a lot of reason why he decided to this. I would be sad as a parent
