Recently, some Florida educators took self-defense training classes in case of a school shooting. An instructor in this guide to defense said, "Methods on how to hide, run or fight should be mandatory for all teachers no matter where they live." all of this took place on a recent Saturday in Lake Mary, Florida. Teachers were taught how to disarm a gunman as well as use their hands, legs, feet, elbows, and knees all as self-defense tools. In addition to all of this, president Obama set aside millions of dollars for more police officers in schools. What do you think, should it be mandatory for teachers to take self-defense classes and/or should Obama spend millions to put officers in school?

Good job but many of your replies are basically "I agree with you". You did well in some replies.
Teachers taking self defense classes worries me a little but they are preparing. I think it's a good idea, they can now protect themselves anywhere and at school protect the students. Even if it wasn't a gun man running wild in the school, they would still be able to protect the kids. Now, if we put police officers in schools, it might just be a challenge for the crazy people out there to show that they could get pass an officer and go shoot people. The police officers just might draw the possible shooters to that school.
It might, but if they see that there is some law enforcement protecting the school, it might scare them away.
I don't know if it should be mandatory, but just recommended. I'm sure that training teachers could make schools safer, but there are lots of teachers that are overweight and unable to do so, so if it's mandatory, then some teachers could be fired.
I don't really think it should be mandatory for teachers to take a self defense class. I do think it should be encouraged, hearing about all the other shooting from other states. Then there are other cases where a teacher could have a mental disability or student taking the gun. It could be a good idea in some cases and in other cases it could be bad.

I think that it should be mandatory to take the class. We are already trillions of dollars in debt. I would be nice but I think that the class would be easier.
