A restaurant in New jersey has started a "teen tax" because they think teens don't leave a good tip. Bella, an 11 year old girl went to get a milkshake one night with a couple of her friends and her bill had an extra 90 cents added but wasn't sure why it was there. She sent a picture to her mom, Melissa. Melissa said she was there earlier that day and she didn't have the extra tax. CBS has found out about this and asked the restaurant why they are doing this, and they said it was because they would have 20-30 teens in there together and none of them would leave a tip. Melissa said she would like t have this done for everybody not just the teens.

- Do you think it is a good idea for restaurants to do this to teens?
I don't think it is a good idea because there are a lot of adults that don't tip. I have seen more teens tip than adults have.
- If you were taxed with this how would you feel?
I would be very confused about why I am paying extra.

No, I don't think it's a good idea for restaurants to do this to teens. I don't think it's fair for teens to be tax just because they didn't give a tip, which isn't required to do. If I had been taxed, I would be confused and upset.
I think it is a good business idea but it doesn't look good on the outside, sure they are making money but I don't know if the teens would continue to go there. I would feel mad just because I usually leave a tip and if they charged me extra even after I left a tip I would be mad.
If I were taxed I would probably be a little bit upset because I already have little enough money as it is, but I would understand and wouldn't feel as bad about not leaving an actual tip.
I think that it is a great idea because a lot of times teens have so little money that they don't even think about leaving a tip for the restaurant and it would give restaurants a better incentive to serve them.
1. I think it is a fantastic idea and every restaurant should do this.
2.I would feel better because then i would not have to tip.
I see why you think it is a good idea. It would be a good idea but it would be better if they told customers that they are doing this
I do not think that this is a good idea. Teens typically don't have as much money as adults do, and that's not fair that they are only giving this extra tax to teenagers. I personally would be upset if I was taxed this especially if I left a good tip already. I feel the restaurant does this because they know teenagers don't pay as much attention and more than likely won't notice the extra tax on their bill.
no because really teens on average dont make money all that easily and they dont really start to get money until around 14 or 16. i probably wouldnt eve notice it was there.
I think that taxing teens is a bad idea, because most teens don't have jobs so its harder for them to tip anyway. I think that if they really liked your service you will be tipped anyways so why even worrying about the taxes.
No because some teens dont work as hard as others or have jobs like some teens, its not there fault they dont have the money to be giving 10 dollar tips. And if they didnt like your service they dont have to give you a tip.
