Today Afghanistan is a mess, and I am going to tell you some of my opinion. Just some days ago the notorious terrorist group the Taliban has recently taken the city of Kabul. I believe this is due to mostly our government over here in the U.S. The big reason this upsets me is that our brave soldiers have been fighting over there for at least 20 years and 11 were killed 3 days ago. The deaths are due to a suicide bomber in the overcrouded airport during the evacuation of Americans and Afghan citizens fleeing from the Taliban. I believe that all could have been prevented.
I believe that we could have done a better job evacuating Afghanistan. We should have done it over time and more controlled and the military shouldn’t have left yet. Right now, we have billions of dollars in the Taliban’s hands and now when we eventually go back there to fix it the struggle will be even greater. The government should have gotten the people out and safe then our weapon and vehicles before all of this, then we would have a better chance of saving our Afghan friends and troops.

Good topic choice Bret! I do think your summary could have been a bit longer(looking for three decent paragraphs at a minimum). You did a good job replying to people but all comments were done on one day instead of three.
I think this whole war has been a mess, and I am glad that it is now over. Although, we may have to go back if their government gets taken over again. Overall, I am sad that so many citizens died in a war that has been going on for 20 years.
In my opinion i believe that what happened in kabul is horrific. Due to the fact that 11 american soldiers risked there lives to defend our country an died is horrible. If i could change the outcome i would capture the people that where in charge of the attack an bring the soldiers to justice. I agree with the fact that we could have done a better job of evacuating afghanistan becauses we have billions of dollars of equipment over there that was pretty much handed over to the taliban.
I think the whole deal is a mess and is to blame on our last three presidents, but mostly Biden for not executing a very good plan on leaving afghanistan. The way we left afghanistan made the USA look scared and not powerful at all.
I belive you are correct that it is mainly Biden, but other presidents have been involved and it has been a mess for a long time. The way the executed it was terrible I agree.
I agree with you that the war with Afghanistan was not handled very well, and I also believe that it was our government problems that caused it. If it were up to me I would have started getting the citizens out of there way sooner so the Afghanistan people wouldn't be so worried and stressed to get out of there. But I am glad that the war is finally coming to an end, but I am still sad that there will be so many citizens still there having to deal with the daily struggles that will occur when we leave.
You are right how it was not handeld well I think we can all see that. I would get the people and the equipment out so we dont leave the taliban billions in state of the art equipment and weapons, vehicles and what not. I disagree that the war is coming to an end I wish it was, but it seems it is only going to go backwards from here and it will be even harder to stabilize due to the fact that we literally gave them weapons and helicopters and what not.
I agree that the situation with the Taliban in Afghanistan is an utter mess as of right now and could've been handled much better. I agree that more time to evacuate the citizens and military would've been very helpful, but now I think we just have to get the people out of Kabul as quickly and safely as possible in the current situation.
I agree with you on the fact that we need to get everyone that wants out and has helped us out, but I also think we should have gotten all of our weapons equipment and vehicles out or at least destroyed them so we dont give the taliban state of the art gear.
I think that this is a huge topic especially right now in our society. I think that a little part of why the Taliban are getting so bad is because of the Afghan military aren't stepping up and taking action. I think that maybe we should've been slower and a little more careful and possibly trained more military.
