Most people have heard of "doggy daycares". Although they're not as common where we live, they thrive in places such as New York City or Manhattan. The service called My Dog Hikes, whisks fancy dogs who live in apartments in the city for three-hour excursions in the New Jersey countryside. The service costs anywhere from $85-$130 a day and allows dogs to be unleashed-literally, in a 2,100 acre nature preserve. For your dog to join one of the revolutionary companies he has to be on a certified anti-tick medice and be able to follow commands. Even if your dog meets the criteria, there's an eight month waiting list though!
This service is really great for city dogs who live in a "very controlled, sterile enviorment." says owner of NYC Doggies. It's not your typical dogs though, they are often spoiled by their owners indulgent exspenses on them. One of these pampered dogs, an Australian Labradoodle, appeared in an activist campaign last year with model Gisele Bündchen. Some dogs not only take apart in this pricey hiking service up to three times a week, but go running with professional dog runners on their days off.

Q U E S T I O N S:
If you lived in the city would you ever sign your dog up for this?
I think if I had the funds to I would, reading about it I can see that it's a bit costly, but nonetheless it seems like a really cute and fun idea.
Do you think that it's too lavish of a lifestyle for a dog?
I don't own any pets, but I can imagine if you do that you really love them and want what's best for them. In the city dogs are confined to small spaces for 8+ hours a day, while their owners go to work. I think it's important to make the commitment to your pets to let them have good and healthy lives, and this seems like a top option for city people.

I think that is very true and it is ultimitely up to the buyer of the service to decide if they are willing to spend that much money on their dog and on a regular basis for their dog.
I think I would if it was cheaper because i feel like the dog i have at the moment would like that because he loves to play and be outside. I don't think it is yes it is expensive but your pet is kinda worth it in my opinion.
I agree with you that your pet should be worth it. If you invested some time into buying him/her, you should put them pretty high up in your life because they can't care for themselves.
If I lived in the city, I would definitely sign my dog(s) up for this because it would give them the opportunity to run around without a leash, which they can't do in the city. I don't think it's too lavish because it would be good for your dog to let them run around every once in a while.
I won't because all my dog would want to do is play with the dogs and he gets really excited around other dogs and people, but maybe it would be good for im, im not sure. But if I could I might.
I think that it's not. Its just another way to let your pets have fun with other dogs and people. So I wouln't think so
I think that is a good point that if your dog doesn't get along well with other dogs/people then this is very true. But the serivce also states that dogs who are agressive or can't follow orders, are NOT ALLOWED.
I wouldn't sign up my dogs for this because one of my dogs don't along with other dogs and my other dog gets along with dogs but don't get along with some people. Some dog owners would think of that , but some dog owners will think it is just a waste of money and would rather with their dog instead of letting their dog go on a hike by their selves.
1) I agree if the funds were avaliable.... Its is quite a bit of money. I do agree that this is a cute and fun idea.
2) I dont have any pets myself but im sure if i did i would want them to be happy. I think though this is more of an option for city people than it is small town or country people.
I think you are correct in saying it is a bit pricy for how little time your dog will be there/in their care. I feel the same way, that if I had pets I would want them to be happy.
If I lived in the city and had enough monthly income, I would for sure do this. I can tell that this will be pretty expensive, but I think it's a good, creative idea for dogs. I can see in some ways that it's too fancy for a dog to live. I understand on the part of wanting to love and give back to your dog, but I also think that these dogs might get treated better, and pampered better than their owners.
