Syria was under attack by isreal missiles at the time the plane was flying over syria. they shot the plane dow trying to prevent a missile barrage from isreal. the plane was shot down by an anti aircraft system that the russians sold to them a couple years earlier. The plane had several russian personals on board and the only people in the world who new about the plane were the russians. isreal has attacked syria over 200 times in the last 18 months to stop iranian weapons in the region.

I think Russa will react negatively and want to get justice for their plane being shot down. Israelies probably did not comment about this because it's confidential information and not something they feel should be discussed since it is a military topic. They probably don't want people to know their thoughts on it because it could negatively impact them and their country.
I agree with your first statement but I think that the Israelis probably didn't comment on it because it wasn't an accident. If it's already in the news, you're expected to comment on such an issue.
I think that Russia will feel pressured and angry and feel that an attack is brought upon them. Attacking Syria multiple times is just an outrage and crazy to believe. Isreal most likely didn't comment because they didn't want all the press and attention and pressure on them.

I think Russia might do something to Syria in return for shooting down their plane. They will be very angry and quickly do something to the Syrians. I don't think Isreal will respond to the reporters because they probably think it will cause a lot of attention and they don't want that.
