A 10-year, Nathan Entingh, got suspended for three day for making the shape of a gun with his hands. He was in science class goofing around with his friends, when he formed a gun shaped with his hand and pointed it at his friends head, and said boom. The teacher immediately took Nathan out of the classroom. In Ohio, they have a zero tolerance law, the law states that they have adopted the policy of no violence, disruption, and inappropriate behavior. The student's have been warned about making paper guns, and finger guns. This issues has happen before, some students have even got expelled.
The whole story here
Do you think he should have gotten suspended? If you were in this situation how would you feel? Do you think this represents violence in him?

Great job Jenna!
I don't think he should have been suspended. He should have been told to stop goofing around. This is a little extreme.
this is a very weird story. I think that the kid was just messing around. all kids do it. I would of just said no to the kid. not suspend him for something that is so little
I think it's kind of dumb that he got suspended for a fake gun. He's ten and probably doesn't completely understand that he shouldn't joke about it anymore. But when we were little we used to run around on the playground making fake guns with our fingers, or sticks so this just shows how much has changed since we were in elementary school.
I don't think he should of gotten suspended because kids do that all the time just to mess around. They never actually mean it. If that was me I would feel kind of angry because I don't think its a huge deal, but I do think kids who do this either do have a little violence in them or they just play to many video games.
I think this kind of stuff with gun laws is stupid. Our country has less and less freedom everyday is seems like.
No, I think he shouldn't of done it but getting suspended is to harsh. If I was in this situation I would be very confused on why I got suspended. If he does the finger gun thing to his friends often it could show violence in him.
I think it is a bit much. He obviously didn't know about the policy and didn't mean any harm in doing it. He is only 10 years old, he was probably just doing it for humor and attention. I do not think this means that he is violent.
Its tough to say. I mean you should not do that, but yet if he didn't know what it meant.. I don't know what I would do if I was in charged. It could represent violence, if he is in home where they are violent. He could just do what he sees at home.
That is true. Our environment, the internet, and TV all have violence among them. It's easy for kids to pick up on those things and think it's just for fun.
