On Thursday March, 19, Adriana Harris a middle school student at Bayside Middle school got suspended for helping a kid. One of her classmates was cutting himself with a little razor type blade. There were no teachers in site and she felt like it was a 911 situation so she took the little blade from him and threw it away. She told the kid what he was doing was wrong. Instead of the school praising her, she got suspended with recommendation of expulsion. Adriana got asked by CNN if she could of done it all over again knowing that she would get suspended would she still of took it away? She said she would of because as long as she was helping the kid it didn't matter. The Harris family ended up calling 10 on your-side because the school wouldn't return their calls about Adriana's suspension. Once the school started returning their calls they had a meeting with the Harris family and after the meeting the school officials decided to end Adriana's suspension and are allowing her to return to school.
I think they made the right decision in letting her go to school again. I don't understand why they wouldn't let her because she did nothing wrong.
What do you think about this? Do you think they made the right decision in letting her return to school or not?

Great topic but again, you needed to reply more to comments.
It is great that she helped the kid and stopped him from cutting himself. She shouldn't have been suspended because she held a razor blade while throwing it away. But I do understand that they only had her word that she threw it away. But all they had to do was look in the trash can where she threw it away at. Surely the janitor would have noticed it.
I don't understand why they would suspend her for that, she was just trying to help another student. I think she made the right choice and if i was her i would have done the same thing.
All she did was help out some emo kid. Thats not a bad thing to do unless it is a bad thing these days.
They probably didn't realize at first what she was really doing. All the teachers saw was her holding a razor. I think this girl did the right thing.
I think they made the right desicion by letting her go back, bu ti think that they did not handle the situation correctly.
WHAT?!?!?! OMG that's ridiculous, that makes me furious that they suspended her in the first place I mean she was just trying to help! Of course she didn't do anything wrong, honestly if I was in that family I would protest or just not have her go to that school anymore!
I think that school made the wrong decision in suspending her... She didn't do anything wrong and should actually have been praised for helping out the her classmate
They definitely made the right choice to let her go back to school, but the made the way wrong decision in suspending her in the first place. I think that everybody that was involved with her suspension should be fired.
She did the right thing. She was just trying to help the boy from hurting himself even more.
