Stolen Money Returned

A man, sixty years ago, stole money from a Sears store. This took place in Seattle, and he returned the money with interest. He stole around $20-$30 dollars and he has paid back $100 with the interest. What are your thoughts? Do you think he did the right thing in returning it after so long or shouldve let it go?http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/29/9086913-60-years-on-elderly-man-with-conscience-repays-store-100

  • I think it was the right thing to do. I guess its never to late to do the right thing. I'm glad he did that AND paid on interest.
  • Why would he steal money just to return it? That doesnt make sense..at least he returned it though!
  • He did the right thing in returning it. He must of felt guilty or something cause why would you return money you stole.. it'd be a little weird.
  • what a nice old man! now little kids can have christmas presents!

  • I think its funny that he returned it with interest. maybe since he did that, it wasnt stealing, it was loaning.

  • I think he did the right thing, because that way he has his conscious clean, and that way peoplemwillnhave some respect for him. Im glad he decided to do the right thing.
  • I would think that after 60 years the man would have forgot about the money. I think that it is nice of the guy to return the money and with interest. It is the right thing to do to return any thing that you have stolen.

  • I think it was a good thing he returned the money, but why did he steal? It also is really late to be returning the money. Why would you wait 60 years?
  • I think he should have let it go, because it happened in the past, and I'm sure the store had forgotten about it. But yes, that's neat he returned it. Don't you just love that gut feeling that tells you something is wrong and makes you want to do right...even if it is perhaps, 60 years too late?!! :)

  • I mean it's nice that he returned it. But after 60 years I would've just let it go.
