Stimulus checks

They are talking about a fourth stimulus check after the covid pandemic.  Our parents have gotten some of this money based on how many children they have.  I think that my parents should give me some of that money because without me, they would not have gotten the check.  But I also know that they pay a lot of money to raise me so maybe they deserve it.  They spend a lot for basic stuff and buy me stuff I want.  They could use if for that.

I also think that it is good to spend that money to pay bills and on necessary things if you really need too.  But if you don't need it to pay bills then it is good to use it to buy something which helps a business make money which stimulates the economy.  Another good idea but doesn't really help stiumlate the economy would be to put it in savings.  Some people like to have it for safety if they lose their job or would get hurt.  And there is always taking a vaction with the money.  Some people save money for vacations.  This would also be a good option.  Another idea would to be to upgrade something with your house.  You could remodel a room in you house or build a shed, or maybe buy a new car.

And there are some who will completely blow the money and not have anything to show for it.  I suppose they probably stimulated the economy though.

What would you do if you got a $500 stimulus check?

Do you think your parents should share theirs with you?

  • If I got a $500 stimulus check I would save the money and use it when I needed it. I think parents should give a little bit of money to the kids because without it they would have not gotten it. They could keep a majority of the money, but it would be fair to give a little chunk to the kid.

    • Yes I agree.  I get that they have to pay bills and the bills are higher because of us but I agree they should give us some.

  • if i got a five hundred dollar check in the mail I would quickly hide it from everyone and spend a little of it at a time getting whatever I want at the time and the parents do share the money with me because the checks are supposed to be used for the child whether that is paying for food or paying a morgage it still is all supposed to be used for the children that is why they pay more if you have more children

    • I agree with you completely.  Cause I would put some in savings and spend some of it.  And we should get some because parents get more because they have kids.

  • I believe that my parents would probably put it in a savings account because at the end of the year or this whole covid deal people are going to have to pay back the government for what they owe. It's not just free money that you can spend on whatever you want but more of a if your having a bit of a financial trouble. If anyone was given the option for $500 then they should invest it into stocks or something that will help make money for you without you having to do any work.

    • But what if the stock market crashes and you lose all your money.  Investing is a good idea though.  If it is a stimulus check you won't have to pay it back.

  • In a situation like the pandemic, I would most likely try and use a stimulus check to shop locally and stimulate the local economy.  I don't think that parents are obligated to share the stimulus checks with their kids because most people who need the stimulus checks are going to use it for necessities like food and bills.

    • Yes if the parents need the money for bills then that is what they will have to do.  It is a stimulus check but they might be paying a credit card that was used for something fun, or maybe a necessary thing.  Sometimes buying necessary things stimulate businesses too like having to buy a washing machine.

  • If I got a $500 stimulus check I would put it into my bank account so I can save up for things that I want. Their is a lot of people who spend the money useless and then there are people who really need the moeny and spend it on things that they need. I dont think that parents should have to share because they buy you food and clothes.

  • If i ogt a 500 dollar stimulus check I would probably spend it pretty quick. I don't think parents should share with you unless they put it into the bank right away, because otherwise it would get spend stupidly and some families really need the money to pay bills.
