Steve Harvey vs. Miss Columbia

If you haven't heard by now Steve Harvey made a huge mistake! While hosting the Miss Universe pageant on December 20, 2015. He thought he read that the card said Miss Columbia won Miss Universe but, shortly following after he read that Miss Columbia had won it turned out that he made a mistake and Miss Philippines won and Miss Columbia was the runner up.

Steve Harvey came out on his own and owned up to his mistake and announced that the winner was in fact Miss Philippines not Miss Columbia. Miss Columbia had to go through the embarrassment of having to have her crown and sash taking away from her. Steve said, "As bad as I felt, oh my God, Miss Columbia, how could she possibly have felt. And my heart bled for her and I haven't been able to speak to her since."

Now, he gets the chance to apologize in person to Miss Philippines and Miss Columbia in this weeks 2 part episode on the Steve Harvey show. Miss Philippines appears on Monday, January 18 and Miss Columbia appears on Tuesday, January 19.

What would you do if you were Steve Harvey, Miss Philippines, or Miss Columbia? How would you handle it?

There have been a lot of people debating about whether Steve Harvey should be fired. What do you think and why?

If I were Steve Harvey I would do exactly what he did. I would announce the true winner and apologize to both contestants. If I were Miss Philippines I would give Miss Columbia some time to process what was happening I would feel bad for her as well. If I was Miss Columbia I would try to understand that I still made a great accomplishment as a runner up in Miss Universe. I would try to handle it as best as I could.

I don't think he should be fired because we all make mistakes.

  • Great job on this post!

  • He screwed up, but something like that could happen to anyone. I don't know how I would handle something like this-it would be very embarassing. But I think that the media is making too big of a deal of it.

  • I think I would do the same thing as Steve, go back out onto the stage apologize from the mistake and re-crown the real Queen. It's not like he did it on purpose or had any intentions of trying to make somebody feel bad. We all are humans and we all make mistakes.

  • If I was Steve Harvey I would to the same thing that he did. I dont think he should be fired, because we all make mistakes that part of being a human

  • I don't think he should be fired either because everyone makes mistakes in life, some bigger than others. If I was Miss Columbia I would be extremely embarrassed and a little upset as well. For if I was Miss Philippines I would feel really sorry for the other girl and also kinda embarrassed as well because I would have to take her winnings and claim them as mine now. Which I would also be excited for too.

  • If I was Steve Harvey I would feel so bad, I don't think I would want to face either girls and apologize to them. If I was Miss Columbia I would be so embarrassed and sad because I didn't actually win. If I was Miss Philippines i would be so happy and excited, but on the other hand I would feel bad for Miss Columbia for what she went through. I don't think he should be fired, I made a mistake and he is willing to apologize for what he did personally to the two girls.

    • I agree! He made a mistake and he did the right thing and apologized to both girls. I would also feel super bad.

  • If I was Steve Harvey I would find some way to contact Miss Columbia as soon as possible to let her know how bad I felt for announcing her the winner and then having to take the crown away from her. I don't think Steve should be even close to fired, because we all make mistakes. This may be one major one in front of the world, but its only because he misread something. We all make mistakes, a guy like himself should not be fired for this mistake.

    • I completely agree! People make mistakes and that he should not be fired for his mistake of misreading something.

  • If I was one of them I would be embarrassed and I would have tried to embraced it. First of all what would they fire him from he probably won't be announcing the pageant next year anyway.
