Starbucks Workers Recieve Free Tuition

On Monday, Starbucks just released that is will allow its employees to receive free tuition if they attend Arizona States University online program. Believe it or not the company already offers free tuition for employees to receive free tuition for two years, but now is extending it to four years. Giving employees a chance to receive a Bachelor's degree. Any Starbucks employee can apply to get this free tuition, unless they already have a bachelor's degree. In fact, 70% of their employees do not have a bachelor's degree. Starbucks CEO said, not only is it helping the economy, but it is benefiting these employees to get a better education. This is a good program that offers free tuition and could benefit lots of employees who may not of been able to afford college tuition.

Questions:

  • Good but all of your replies are on the same day.

  • I think this is a great idea it will educate young people. I don't think I would go to Starbucks jut for the collage.

  • Yes because they're getting an education. I would might consider working at Starbucks.

  • It will get more positive reviews and more workers while giving their workers a chance to do more.

  • I think it is because it is allowing more people to further there education and getting Starbucks a better name for doing this.

  • I think it's very nice from the company to do that because it costs them money and I guess also some workers. I think people who are working at Starbucks work there because they don't have a degree so I would only work there for a student job only.

  • As a corporate business, you would usually never do something like this because it would cost lots of money to start with, and you could be losing some workers, because they spend time doing this instead. I also think that it kind of self destructs their whole system anyway because people who have a 4 year degree probably won't work at a coffee vendor. It is nice of them however and good for PR.

  • I think it's a good idea, because its helping the people that work there but also the world. I wouldn't consider working there just for this but many people will take advantage of this so it could be a problem for Starbucks at the end.

  • I think that it is great that Starbucks is helping out there younger employees by giving them a chance to get a proper education. and if Starbucks was willing to pay my way through school i would differently consider working there yes.

    • I think you are right, if someone was willing to buy my schooling I would work there because it would be way cheaper and save you money while you were making money.
