As most people have heard, there are multiple giant plastic blobs floating in the ocean, creating endless amounts of problems for marine life. While is may seem simple to fix, the task a hand is actually much more complicated that we all realize. UPSTREAM, one of the leading companies trying to fix this dilemma, has proposed that the only way to fix this is to completely rethink how we use plastic today. Stating that “today we use plastic-- a material designed to last forever-- for products designed to last minutes.” This company has discovered that although recycling somewhat helps, human beings cannot recycle into a maintainable future. We must create products that benefit the earth with safe materials. These will be able to either biodegrade or be manufactured again into products for generations.

Yes, I do believe something needs to be done about the enormous amount of plastic waste in the world. As to ensure a better planet for the future.

I think many will find it a very good idea to use safer and more sustainable products, but there are also going to be people who don't think that plastic waste is a problem.

I do agree with using more earthfriendly products. i think that using more bio-degradable products that it could greatly reduce the ammount of polution being outputed into the world each day and that it willl help us so we are on this planet longer and safer.
I belive somethng should be done. I belive this because if we dont do something about all of the polution in the world then all of our efforts to save it will be at a waiste, also I think that we need to save marine life because they are just as important as us.
I think there need to be something done with all of the plastic waste in both the oceans and on land. Not only is the waste affecting sea life and other marine animals, but it is also making our health worse and polluting our air and water making it harder to find fresh water to drink.
Yes, these massive islands are a huge destruction on both wild life and generally anything near it, hopefully more and more people will soon convert to more enviromentally friendly products.

Yes, I agree that should reduce the waste of plastic, since it affects the environment of planet earth, and affects the future of many people. I'm not sure that some people agree, the people who do care maybe they agree, but it's not really a good idea to not use plastic.
I feel like the plastic problem should be delt with immediately. A solution to this problem could be if we switched to more recylcable products so we can just recycle materials instead of creating more and more of the same materials.
