Throughout the U.S. there are 355 zoos, and there are more than 2,800 zoos worldwide. These zoos can produce up to 24 billion dollars each year. The zoos produce most of this money off of the animals. However, a huge debate is if this is even okay for zoos to hold these animals and make money off of it.
Many people believe that zoos are harmful to the animals mentally and physically. However, zoos do so much more positive than negative things. For example, they teach millions of people all over the world about animals they might not have even known about. They expand our knowledge about animals in general. Along with that, zoos help us produce more animals that the world is lacking. Also, these zoos help save animal species that are on the brink of extinction. These animals in the zoos are also treated very well. They are well fed, have water available, and even get medicine to boost their health.
I believe that zoos do more positive things than negative things in the world. They’re keeping these animals safe and ensuring that these animals will still be around for future generations to come.

I think that zoos are overall okay. I think a lot of the time zoos actually save some of the animals. I think that zoos have the animals best intrest in mind and the people who work the zoo truly want the best for these animals. I think the animals are treated and well cared for.
Zoos can be a good thing. Over the years they have gotten better in making good living conditions for animals. I think it is a good thing for species who are dying out. The Zoo can help woth that. On the otherside are some "cages" still too small for some animals.
I agree. I think back when zoos first started they were definately wrong for the animals. Not until pretty recently, then the zoos have really stepped up and given the animals a place where they could be comfortable. Back then I think the animals were treated very badly.
I think it depends on the zoo. Some zoo's are fine because they are treating the animals right and the animals are getting taken care of. It is pretty dependent on the zoo. I think most zoos are fine and the animals are fine if they are living in the same environment as they would be if they weren't in their.
I have always loved zoos and they have played a pretty big role in my childhood, but I do think that animals should be respected and be taken care of properly... I think that they should also be happy instead of just entertainment. In my opinion, as long as zoos treat their animals correctly, there should be no problem with them.
I think zoos are great for kids, teens, and adults it helps you learn great facts about hundreds of animals it is a great place to learn and spend time with family. I also know zoos treat animals great and have trained professionals to work with them it is great they keep the animals safe and healthy.
I believe that as long as the zoo is treating, maintaining, and respecting these animals properly, there is no problem with having zoos. At the zoos where I have been, all the animals seem to be in good living conditions, but that doesn't mean there are other zoos that are treating animals horribly.
I agree. I think zoos are okay and even good under the circumstances that they are taking care and treating the animal good. I also think it matters that they stay in a habitat like what they would natural live it. I think having them in cages is wrong.
I think that zoos are good for people to see and experience the animals up close. I'm not sure if every zoo treats their animals right but I know most do. I think that zoos are better for animals especially ones who are becoming extinct because they are in a protected environment.
I believe that zoos are fine. I can see how some people can have concern over them and how they affect the animals but I believe they are fine the way they are. I believe these animals are fine just the way they are even if it is not their natural habitat.
