Throughout the U.S. there are 355 zoos, and there are more than 2,800 zoos worldwide. These zoos can produce up to 24 billion dollars each year. The zoos produce most of this money off of the animals. However, a huge debate is if this is even okay for zoos to hold these animals and make money off of it.
Many people believe that zoos are harmful to the animals mentally and physically. However, zoos do so much more positive than negative things. For example, they teach millions of people all over the world about animals they might not have even known about. They expand our knowledge about animals in general. Along with that, zoos help us produce more animals that the world is lacking. Also, these zoos help save animal species that are on the brink of extinction. These animals in the zoos are also treated very well. They are well fed, have water available, and even get medicine to boost their health.
I believe that zoos do more positive things than negative things in the world. They’re keeping these animals safe and ensuring that these animals will still be around for future generations to come.
What do you think? Are zoos okay?
Do you think the animals are treated fairly enough for it to be okay?

I think it depends on what zoo you are talking about but the zoos that I have seen look like they are treating the animals good. I do not think that zoos are really that bad even though it does take the animal out of its natural habitat but it helps some endangered species get a chance to survive because they protect them.
I agree with what you said. I feel like it really depends on how the zoos treat these animals and the conditions the animals are living in. I agree how you said it is giving endangered species a better chance at surviving. I feel like without zoos there would be many more species extinct.
I think that zoos are just fine, I mean, they may not be in their natural habitat but as long as they are happy, and are not getting abused then there shouldn't be any problem. Treating animals right, is what is important. And that should be the number 1 priority.
I think the answer is dependent on each individual zoo because how they treat the animals they have isn't always the same. Some zoos treat them better than others. I think they're okay when they treat the animals well, and if they have them in a close enough environment to what they're used to.
I think zoos are totally fine because people like seeing different animals from different places.
I think zoo's are great. However, there is a minimum standard they should be held up too so that the animals aren't in miserable conditions. At least at our nearest zoo I think the animals are treated quite well.
I completely agree. I feel they are good as long as they give the animals what they need to feel comfortable. I also agree how you said at our nearest zoo the animals are treated well. I think the Henry Doorly Zoo does a great job of treating the animals, from what I can tell.
I think that zoo's are fine to be a thing. I personally think it's good entertainment and experience. I think that zoo's would be better for the animals if they were exactly like the animals natural habitat but that isn't possible. All together though I think animals are treated well from what I've seen and I don't think zoo's are a problem.
I think zoos are really cool for intertainment and knowledge. I also think zoos seem to take good care of there animals. Because they are not in their natural habitat, I don't know if the animals are living their lives to the fullest, but they seem to be given similar habitats.
I think in some situations animals are better off living in a zoo rather than wherever they came from. Most of the time, I think zoos are doing more good then harm to/for the animals. Zoos are a good way to entertain/educate kids about animals.
