Wikipedia is a well-known source to most. Wikipedia is an online source that is written and maintained by a group of volunteers. Typically, it is one of the first sites that comes up in your search engine. This has been a hot topic for a long time. Many say wikipedia is unreliable and not trustworthy, others say it is an okay website to use. How do we know if wikipedia is reliable if the writers are volunteers?
Wikipedia has run into some problems in the past that have put a dent in their reputation. There was an American journalist who was reading his online biography done by wikipedia, and he was listed as a conspirator in two assassinations regarding John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy. They could not identify the writer of this biography because the only information they have about these writers is their computer IP address. Later on, the writer laughed it off and apologized saying he wrote it as a joke.
In my opinion, I think wikipedia can be reliable sometimes but I wouldn’t typically choose a wikipedia link. I would rather find a more reliable source when getting my information. I think wikipedia has fooled too many people too many times since its upbringing. If I absolutely need to use wikipedia, I would make sure the given information is correct before using it further within my project/paper/assignment.
Do you use wikipedia?
Do you think wikipedia should be considered a reliable source?
Do you think wikipedia is trustworthy?

I agree, it is good for searching people up but not a reliable source for information for a school paper.
I don't really use wikipedia, I think its an unreliable source. I don't think it should be concidered a reliable source because of the accident that happened.Although they give a lot of infromation, they don't give both sides of the topic. I don't recommend this webiste.
I agree, I don't use it either because of the false information.
I do not use Wikipedia because I do not find it as a good, reliable source. Anyone can add anything to Wikipedia, they can trick people into thinking something is true and factual even though it is not. I don't think that anyone should use Wikipedia because they can find information that may not be true.
I agree, people shouldn't use Wikipedia unless it's for personal questions.
I agree, it can be reliable depending on the topic.
I don't use widepedia that often. It is usally one of the last resorts I have for researching because wikipedia is unreliable, and the writer can be anyone. We should just use different resouces, so we know th information is reliable.
I agree, it is my last choice too because of the false information.
I agree that Wikipedia can be a reliable source, but i wouldn't risk it. If I'm doing a project that requires me to look up certain information, Wikipedia definetly wouldn't be my first choice because I really don't believe it's the most reliable source out there. I would for sure choose mor reliable sources like .Gov or .Edu over Wikipedia.
I agree, Wikipedia isn't my first choice either, but I think it is because the teachers say not to use it.
