Welfare is one of many government programs that helps out or aids Americans who are not financially sound. It is funded by taxpayers and it helps people with financial stress during a rough period in their lives. When people receive welfare benefits they usually receive weekly or monthly payments. You do have to be eligible for welfare based on income and even size of family. I think that welfare can be a good thing if it is used in the right ways.
Now some states have already passed laws that have allowed testing for drugs in welfare recipients. Some of those states include Missouri, Arkansas, Utah, and tennessee. I think that this would be beneficial in all states because many people who are on welfare have been in drug related crimes. Also since it is the taxpayers money that the recipients are getting it should be getting put into good use. The recipients shouldn’t be worried about the testing of the drugs as they shouldn’t be doing them as they are illegal.
Overall I think that the welfare recipients should be tested for drugs because they are getting financial help from the government. I think the money that they are getting should be put to good investments as they didn’t make that money. I do think welfare is overall a good thing the government offers. I think that welfare should hold more quality for the people who are receiving it as they aren’t earning it and are getting helped out during the rough period in their lives. So yes I do think that welfare recipients should be drug tested often.

Good topic choice, well written and great job overall Ava!
I definetly think that people on welfare should have to take drug test to insure that they are not on drugs because if they are then they are probly jsut going to use the money for drugs. I also think that if they fail the drug test then they should not be eligable for welfare.
I think that people on welfare should be tested for drugs because when people are addicted to drugs, they will probably do anything to get those drugs, like using welfare money. I think that it is important to know if a person on welfare is abusing drugs so that they can be put in rehab so that they don't spend taxpayer money on drugs.
I agree with you and the point you made about how if they are addicted to drugs they will do anything for them.
I think it is a good idea for them to be tested for drugs because they are being benefited by the government and they should make sure they are helping the right person and that person is using the money for a good things and not on drugs.
I agree with you and how you said that they should be because they are being benefited by the government.
I think welfare should be tested for drugs because if you are going to get money it should be proved that you are not going to spend that on things that are illegal. Also people that need that shouldn't feel worried about it if they don't do it. I also think that it is something that you are paying in your taxes, so it should be invested in something good.
I agree with you and the point about how if you are going to get money you shouldn't be able to spend it on illegal things.
i think that people that get uit should have to get drug tested cause why give people money to people that are gonna spend money on drugs.
I fully believe that recipients should be tested for drugs. It's a smart thing to do this so these people don't have to sit around spending government money. And they should be screened before entering the bathroom so they don't cheat, this way they do not put someone else's urine in it.
