On September 23rd, my family and I are going to Louder Than Life, but before we go, we need to get a covid test to show proof that we all have tested negative, but should we really need the proof?

With all that's happened since 2019, Covid has been pretty hard on everyone, but thankfully the toughest has passed. Since covid is still a thing, we, the people, need to get and show proof of a negative test. I don't agree with this because it'd save the guards at Louder Than Life a ton of time plus for us, the listeners, the trouble getting a giant cotton swab shoved up our noses, it'd be a ton of trouble for just one day, let alone several days like at Louder Than Life.

If the government is making us shove huge swabs up our noses, don't you think that'd infect the doctors too? When you really think about it, the test is just spreading the virus more, because not only are they coming in contact with us, but they're getting close to your nose that's probably where the infection is dispensing from, which makes the doctors sick. I understand that it'd help to get the test so you know whether or not to go or get the vaccine, but it makes life for every single individual a lot worse.

If you ask me, the test seems like a huge waste of time, instead, the listeners could just get the vaccine, instead of getting a test. that way, it'd save everyone a ton of hassle, time, and effort. We, the people, are so close to the light at the end of the tunnel, but if we keep getting tested, it's not going to get us anywhere. So instead of getting the test, everyone should just get the vaccine so we don't need to stress about the masks, the sanitizer, the 6' rule, and quarantine ever again.

1. What do you think about needing to get proof of a negative test?

2. Do you think we should still need to get tested before going to festivals, or proms, or homecoming?

3. What else could everyone do to get rid of covid?

  • Great topic choice and good summary Tony! The issue is that you only replied back two times and it should be at least six times. Also, be sure to capitalize key words in your title.

  • You shouldn't have to do that.   It costs a lot of money for all those test and almost all of them are going to be negative anyways.  Covid is going to be like the flu.  I don't think we are going to get rid of it.  Most people are going to get it and most people will be fine.

  • I think having to get proof of a negative test is okay in some locations but if its for a store or a resturant then it is unnecessary. No I dont think we should get tested but if your not feeling good then dont go. Stop going to big events when feeling sick.

  • I think that negative tests are not really needed if you already had your vaccine or if you had covid-19. But for the rest its good to get tested, because we if you feel sick and just think it’s a normal flue or something it is not good for, you’re surrounding because you can infect them. We want to end the pandemic, or not?  And in my opinion, it is better that everyone gets tested before an event, so every stay safe and healthy.

  • I think it's a good idea that they're requiring a negative covid test to enter large social gatherings. But if you do have covid, you should be able to get your money back. Some people are immune compromised and if someone has covid and gives it to them they could die.

  • I think it is a good idea because it can prevent from spreading it more by avoiding people who have it to not attend to places where there is gonna be a lot of people. somethings people can do to prevent it from spreading it more is by following the rules and taking care of themselves.

  • I dissagree, I think that getting tested before an event is a way better idea than eveyone getting the vaccine. With a quick test you know for sure weather or not you have it, but with the vaccine even if you've been vaciniated weeks before you can still get COVID with a vaccine. If you got tested you would know within a half hour what your results are whereas even vacciniated people are still catching covid

  • I think the respectful and responsible thing to do would be to get tested before you go to social gatherings, especially if it is required and your not vaccinated. I don't think getting tested is a big deal especially for those who chose not to get vaccinated. When getting tested medical personnel wear protective gear including goggles, masks, gloves, and gowns to protect themselves.  I feel that this is a necessary attempt to stop COVID from spreading.

  • I think needing a negative test is something good because it's a way of preventing more cases of Covid. I think we should be tested for every social event we should go to, or the ones where most people go. I think another thing we could do is use a mask and get vaccinated. I don't agree with you when you say that we you get tested the people that are making you the test are also going to get sick, the places where they make this testes have the equipment necessary to prevent this, also the doctors need to wear the correct uniform for this.

  •  I disagree with you, because some people would rather feel more comfortable with getting a test rather than a vaccine because it hasn't been out that long and we don't know the long term side effects. But, there is a form of a covid test where you can find your test results between 15-30 minutes so it wouldn't be that time consuming. I don't think you need to be tested if you went to prom or homecoming, although if you went to a big festival or concert I could understand why you would either have to show proof of vaccination or be tested. I believe that other people should continue to quarantine if you have tested positive and get the vaccine if you feel comfortable with it.
