Should we keep undercover/unmarked cops? There are many makes and models of police cars. Some police cars don’t identify as cop cars. Some have squad car, response car, public safety car and many more names. Though those ones are marked, and can pull you over, are unmarked police cars really necessary while having all those other ones?
Overall, undercover policing has been a very effective route in policing. Undercover police cars control the movement of traffic. When people know there may be a cop they tend to follow traffic laws better. When no cops are easily seen, they loosen up on the laws. Having unmarked police cars out can worry some people into obeying the laws. Many crimes tend to happen where police cars are not. Having unmarked cars can secure the area better and catch criminals. The use of unmarked cars may seem unfair, but it ensures safety for the public.
Many people do not enjoy being pulled over, especially when it is by someone who they didn’t even know was around. Unmarked cop cars blend into traffic. Unmarked cars are sometimes difficult to identify. If an unmarked car tries to pull you over some would think that it wasn’t a cop because it has no marking. Unmarked cars can lead to people impersonating the police and abduction rates increase. Some people will not end up obeying the police orders if unmarked.
Overall, I personally do not have a problem with unmarked cop cars in a small town. I think in bigger cities it could become a problem with people impersonating them. I think they help control the streets and make towns safer.

I agree that they help reduce crime in rural areas because no one is really expecting them. I think following the laws all the time is a good thing to do because you never know when they're around.
I think we should have unmarked cop cars in order to keep people on their toes while driving. I do see unmarked cop cars but I have never seen them pull someone over. I do not think people would try and impersonate a cap because it is dumb and illegal.
I agree that it helps keep people on their toes and be more aware while driving. I also have never seen them do anything, I just see them sitting around small towns. I think that some people are dumb enough to impersonate a cop though.
I do not think they should be banned because I feel like cops catch a lot more people when people cannot see the cop cars from far away. I think that people impersonating police cars could become a problem but more in cities not small towns.
This seems like a good idea, because you could have a undercover cop at a place that people useally crash and have him see what truely goes on. That or somehting with speeding. I have seen a unmarked police car but it was pointed out by my brother I think.
I think we should keep them becaue people tend to break the law and sometimes they get away with it and I have seen unmarked cops stop people.
I don't think that unmarked cop cars should be banned becasue they can catch people more easily because a lot of people don't know that they are a cop, so they don't slow down or stop what they're doing wrong. I have not ever seen an unmarked police car do anything.
I agree that they shouldn't be banned 100% may be just limited. I think that they do a great job of catching people who aren't aware while driving and overall make the roads a safer place.
I dont think that they should be abnned because they are good for some situations. I can see how it may not work in big citys but in smaller cities it could be a lot more effective. People should always be following the rules on the road at all times. I have seen many people impersonating police cars. They will have the same decals/colors but other words then police on the side.
I agree that they should not be completely banned. I think in bigger cities there may be more problems with them but in small towns I think they do more good than bad. Just having them around keeps people safer.
