Cursive has been in school for who knows how long, and it might be time we finally take it out. Cursive is the same as regular writing but it can be more confusing, if you don't get it drilled into your brain then it might be hard to just read a line of cursive. Another thing is that cursive might look fancy only if you take time and effort into it. Some people might not even have time to do that with jobs or school. You are able to have the same effect as cursive without even writing in it. And people at some point just abandon it all together.
When I was in 6th grade they taught us cursive, and not only that we did spelling tests IN cursive. My spelling skills are bad and having to write it in cursive made it even worse to me. Young kids should not need to go though that even if they know how to spell. Another thing is that we have computers, you can buy things, talk to people, and type papers without having to write it out. We don't need cursive if we are going to use computers for many things and That's the main reason why we should cut it. The only thing that cursive is somewhat useful for is making checks and that's its, the only thing.
Finally not many people under 50 even use cursive. You might have a grandparent or two that writes in cursive, but most relatives don't use cursive. If you ask people if they use it, I'm sure most people will say no. Why should we teach kids cursive if they are not even going to use it when they grow up?
Should cursive be in school yes/no.
Is cursive even useful anymore?

Good topic choice Jason! Your summary is pretty good but could be a tad longer. Look into actual research about this to see if there are experts that agree with your opinon-I know I do. Be sure to comment more frequently as well.
I do not think that cursive needs to be taught in school because people never use it in everyday life other than their signature. Cursive is definetly not usefull in todays society because a lot of people do not know how to read it and everyone knows how to read normal text.
I don't know if cursive should or shouldn't be in schools anymore because while it might be useful for your signeture and for checks, it isn't usefull for much else. I think that kids should have the option to learn cursive in school if they want, but that they shouldn't be forced to learn it.
They shouldn't even teach cursive anymore. It is hard to read and not very many people even write with it anymore. Most people don't even write anymore. Everyone talks with phones and on computers. It really isn't useful,
I think it should not be taken away, I feel that it is kind of us bringing a past thing into our future. We also use cursive for our signitures and for some more things. So I feel that cursive isn't totally useless and that we do use is sometimes.
I think that cursive should not be taken out of school because in the future you will have to use it at some point. Many adults use it every day to use it sign checks, papers, etc. It isn't very hard to learn and doesn't take very much time to learn. So overall I think that cursive should keep getting taught in schools.
I think it should. I think it is important to know how to write or at least do it for a few years, because all old letters or whatever is writen in cursive. So in my opinion it is important. I think it should stay and kids should learn it.
Honestly, I think it's all about personal prefrence. Some people use cursive of their main form of writing, but others just use normal print. To me, I don't mind writing in cursive but I would much rather write in print. Most people sign their names in cursive on checks, bank statments, etc.. but many stores doen't even accept checks anymore and they're really becoming a thing of the past.
I agree with that fully. Just beause I didnt like cursive does not mean that everyone has to not like it. When I truely think about it cursive can still be usefull in cases with essay papers or signitures.
I think the cursive should not be taken out of schools but we taught a little bit. We are going to need to learn it for the future when we are to sign checks, papers, and many other things. Cursive is not very hard to learn and has been around for a while so it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to learn how to use it. Cursive can be faster to write down after you are pretty good at it because you don't have to lift your pencil nearly as much as writing in print.
