This week with ISASP we are doing this new block schedule, I was wondering what it would be like to do it all year round, are there any benefits to it? There are many advantages and disadvantages. Some a disadvantage is if you miss a day you miss a lot more than usually class. With the classes being longer you can learn more in one day which is good but is also bad because if you are sick you miss a lot more and is harder to make up the work.
One advantage is that teachers can get more into depth with each subject they are teaching. The extended class periods allow the teacher to have more time to teach, So the kids can get a more in-depth understanding of the topic. It also allows more time for homework to be done in the class, if the teacher finishes class with thirty minutes left the kids can ask questions and finish it in class. While with a normal class they wouldn’t be able to have fun outside of school because they would be doing homework.
Another reason it is good is it allows the teachers to get to know the students better. The teacher will see fewer kids in a day so they can talk to more people, and get to know them on a more personal level. Which makes the class more fun, if the teacher understands how you act. In my opinion, I haven't hated this week of block scheduling, but I haven't liked it either. The classes I don't like as much are to long, so I think that normal 43 min classes are the perfect length of classes. Those are a few of the many advantages and disadvantages of having a blocked schedule
Would you like to do block scheduling all year round?
Did you like this week of the block schedule?

No, we should not have block schedule's all year round. It messes up the day way too much, and it makes classes that you dread last too long. On the other hand, if you have a class that you really like it could be a good thing for you. In the end, I am against this idea because I would not like it.
There are lots of benifits to having this block schedule. teachers get more done in a class period and they don't have to cut a subject short and wait for tomorrow. It provides more time for test taking and study hall time. I just don't like sitting in a class I don't like for an hour straight.
I think that we should not do block schedule all year around. If we do this we may be in school longer and have more home work to do outside of school. The class hours would be longer but people would loose interest and become bored. I like how long are classes are because it keeps me forcused but if they were to much longer I would space off.
I think this can go either way. It just depends on if students can sit in a desk for an hour and 20 minutes. Also the same classes wont happen everyday which might be a problem timewise. I think students would lose interest with the class fast having to sit for that long.
I am not sure about a block schedule all year around. In some classes it was okay, but others classes I did not like it at all. The classes I didn't like were the ones the teacher talked the whole time, or showed videos all class. It was hard to stay awake in those classes.
It all dependes on preference, some students cannot sit down in a desk for an hour straight, some can. Having block schedule has its pros and cons, I personally dont think we should as I wouldnt be able to pay attention in a class for that long and I like to move around as well
I think that we should have block scheduling all year long because grades would go down a lot in my opinion. Also I kind of like the A and B day type scheduling because you have different classes on different days, but i feel like it would get a little boring after a while.
I dont think that we should do block scedule the whole year. I think that if we were to do that grades would go down because people would not see their teaches every day. And it would be alot harder to pay attention and do work for and hour and a half.
I do not think we should do block scheduling all year round. I think that it would have negatives effects on the school. Students' attention span is not long enough to force students to listen and learn in one class for an hour and a half. I think that it would be bad for students
No, because It gets boring or tiring when you sit in a clas for over an hour long. I think that it would be ok for a week but after that I feel like it would get really boring and no kid is gonna wanna sit in a classroom for that long especiallly when you have really nothing to do if your not testing.
