This week with ISASP we are doing this new block schedule, I was wondering what it would be like to do it all year round, are there any benefits to it? There are many advantages and disadvantages. Some a disadvantage is if you miss a day you miss a lot more than usually class. With the classes being longer you can learn more in one day which is good but is also bad because if you are sick you miss a lot more and is harder to make up the work.
One advantage is that teachers can get more into depth with each subject they are teaching. The extended class periods allow the teacher to have more time to teach, So the kids can get a more in-depth understanding of the topic. It also allows more time for homework to be done in the class, if the teacher finishes class with thirty minutes left the kids can ask questions and finish it in class. While with a normal class they wouldn’t be able to have fun outside of school because they would be doing homework.
Another reason it is good is it allows the teachers to get to know the students better. The teacher will see fewer kids in a day so they can talk to more people, and get to know them on a more personal level. Which makes the class more fun, if the teacher understands how you act. In my opinion, I haven't hated this week of block scheduling, but I haven't liked it either. The classes I don't like as much are to long, so I think that normal 43 min classes are the perfect length of classes. Those are a few of the many advantages and disadvantages of having a blocked schedule
Would you like to do block scheduling all year round?
Did you like this week of the block schedule?

I agree I don't think I will be able to do that all year round. For the weeks that we have ISAP or Semester tests they are perfect.
I did like this week of the block schedule. The block schedule took the stress off the teachers to attempt to get their lessons done before class ends. I wouldn't mind having the block schedule all year round, but it could cause the complications of missing more learning time.
I agree with liking it for the week but disagree with having it all year round. I think it may be harder for kids to make things up because they are missing more class time per day.
I think block schedule is more relaxed than a normal day. It is also more efficient because there is less time spent switching between classes. I also think it is better for the teachers because it gives them more time, but it could get boring with really long classes.
I agree it is more relaxed, for the classes you like. I also agree with the really long classes, if you don't like a certain class you have to bare through it for longer.
I don't know how I would feel about block scheduling year round. I know it would be good to get assignments done and have a longer class period, but personally, I think the days feel like a drag with block scheduling. I didn't mind the week we had block scheduling for ISASP.
Personally, I don't think we should do block schedule because sitting in a class period for an hour and a half got very long. It was fine at the beginning but towards the end, it was hard to focus because we had been in their for so long. I don't think we should do block schedule.
I definitely don't think that we should go to a block schedule the whole school year. I did not like when we had block scheduling because it made my day seem very long and boring. I also hated having to sit still that long in class and focus.
I felt that the block schedules lengthened the and made everyone tired and sick of school. I think that the block scheduling should not be year and it would be miserable if it was. I believe that the block schedule was necessary last but it really dragged the week out.
I agree I was sick of school during that week, but I don't think it was from the block schedule but from all the tests we had to take. I agree with you on the all year round, it would make it fell longer.
