Many children seem to adapt to challenges they face in school and outside of school. Job opportunities, better logic, and communication are three things that could be benefited in an individual's life when knowing more than one language. I think it would be valuable to know multiple languages; especially at a young age.
First, the process of learning two languages at a young age comes easier to toddlers. If a second language is instituted before the age of three, then a child will have the same process and outcome of a child just learning one language. Next, learning a new language at a young age allows children to do better in other subjects in school. By having more than one selection of language choice, a child is exercising multiple parts of their brain. This practice allows a better understanding of a variety of topics. It also allows creativity when solving problems. Lastly, an individual would have the ability to talk to more people. When traveling to foreign countries or speaking to a person during a job, a second language becomes very handy.
Although there are many advantages to learning a new language at a young age, there are also a few downsides. A child could end up disliking the language if they are forced to learn it. This could stop them from wanting to learn or even speak it. Another downside is that teaching another language will have the best outcome when a child learns both languages at the same time. That would mean they would need to learn it before the age of 3 which is before they can go to school.
Overall, I think that it is more beneficial for children/toddlers to learn a second language. If I already knew how to speak Spanish, then it would have taken a weight off of my shoulders today. Knowing another language would have helped me in many aspects of my own life.
Do you think children should learn 2 languages?
Do you think knowing two languages would benefit a child?

I believe that it is best to learn two languages at a young age so your at the same level of learning for both and it is easyer to learn and understand both. Ive known a few kindergarten / preschool teachers that would incoorperate spanish into their teaching and I could just see the improovment. But sometimes it can be too much trying to learn two languages and I personlly feel as if the children might get both languages mixed up at times.
I think that it's very beneficial for children to learn a second language. My cousins grew up in a bilingual home and are learning two languages at the same time. For them, it's beneficial because they can talk to their mom and their dad who speak different languages. I think it could be cool to teach them another language.
I believe that teaching a toddler a second language could be beneficial, but it also depends on their parents situation. For example, if parents don't have the time to teach their kids a second language, i don't think they should be forced to do that. But, if the parens are willing to take the time to teach their kids, there are many benefits also.
I think if we start to teach toddlers a second language it would confuse them to much. At that age they are already learning a lot and putting a second language on there plate to learn it would be to much. Knowing a second language can be useful but at that age they should only learn one to start with then go from there.
I do not think that we should make children and/or toddlers learn two languages because first of all it may not make sense to them or it could even mess up both of their languages while learning. secondly, if they wanted to learn a new language if should be their choice/letting them decide if they want to or not.
i dont think we should force children to learn two languages. if they want to learn to speak multiple languages it should be their choice to do so. learning multiple languges can be benificial for certain jobs.
I feel that children should not be required to learn two languages at a young age because many toddlers struggle to speak one language and trying to teach them two would be nearly impossible to do. I think that it could benefit a child but I also think that it would be to difficult to do so.
I think that children should learn a second language because it is easier to learn a language when you are younger. I started learning English when i was 5/6 years old and in my opinion it helped allot to start in young age to learn a second language.
It is really all up to the parents but if u teach them as a child they will grow up and know 2 languages but it could hold them back on there speech. There are a lot of benefits in the future for them because they would not have to take that class
I belive that children shoud not learn 2 languages. Maybe when they are older but not when they are realy young. some of the children might get stressed with trying to learn and others might have something worse happen. Children should not have to hate school at a young age or get stressed at something.
