Ever wanted to buy a pet at petsmart, but they told you couldn’t due to not being 18. All pet smarts and Petcos aren’t aloud to sell to minors. The stores have said due to the time and requirement of care for some of these animals they won’t sell to younger ages. Many teenagers think these rules are dumb or stupid. Petco's response to these comments are that they are trying to provide a better home for the animals. Minors might buy these animals for the wrong reasons, and these stores are trying to avoid that.
Some stores have different rules regarding buying an animal. Bomgaars lets just about anyone buy a chicken or duck, and it doesn't matter the age. I think therefore pet smart and petco are being unreasonable about the age to buy a fish. As I would say, chickens are more work than fish.
In my opinion, these rules are somewhat reasonable. I believe that you should be 18 years old to buy a dog, cat, hampster, and ect. I however disagree that you should have been 18 to buy a fish. I think that is unreasonable for how much care they would need. I think if you think you are responsible enough to handle an animal you should be able to buy one.
How old do you think you should be to buy a Pet?
Do you think Pet smart and Petcos are being reasonable?
Do you think the amount of responsibility a pet take should determine the age you should be able to buy pet?

I think your topic is good and one that hasn't been done before so +5. The issues are that it is two days late(-20) and you didn't reply to any student comments(-30).
I think you should be able to buy a pet at 18 years old because I think at that point you should be responsible enough to take care of a pet. I do think that petsmart and petcos are being reasonable about this rule since you shouldn't be able to buy a pet if you are a little kid.
I think there should be an age restiction becuase little kids shouldn't be able to walk into a pet store and buy one without a parents their. At 18 you should be able to buy a pet because you are now an adult and they are more responsible.
I think that you should be able to buy a pet at 18 because by then you should be responsible, and mature enough to take care of it. I think that Pet Smart and Petcos are being reasonable because children shouldn't be able to buy pets.
I personally can see how some people see an age restriction on pets an trivial and pointless barrier, but I think it is very necessary. I think that pet stores are smart for putting an age requirement to protect the animals. I think that 18 is a good age that you are mature enough to take care of an animal properly.
I think having the age to by a fish at 18 is fine. If the kid is allowed to have a pet the parent can buy it for them and they can pay them back. It should be more strict with dogs and cats but a animal is an animal.
I think that the age restriction is kind of a inconvience but is probably for the best. I think that it is kind of smart for not allowing children to buy pets. Many times because some children who haven't matured may not realize the real type of responcability it takes to raise an animal.
I think certain animals could have certain age restrictions. Having a pet is a huge responsibility and the older you are, you are usually more responsible. I think that with animals that don't require much to do witht them, you could buy them while you are still young.
I think that some animals should have an age restriction, but not all. I definitely think that the responsibility it takes to take care of an animal should determine the age because pets can become a huge responsibility. Low mantinence animals should necessarily have a restriction though.
I think that you should have to be 18 to buy an animal because most of the time when you are 18 you have a job and you are starting to adult. I also don't agree in a way because if it is a fish those are pretty low mantinence and not hard to take care of. I think 16 would be a good age to be able to get a fish. I think they are pretty resonable.
