One of the most talked about things in sports are All-star games. All-star games are entertaining you get to watch the best athletes go head-to-head. The NBA players have not been trying in the All-Star game for a while now because they do not want to injure themselves. Many people still want to watch the best try and go head to head and see who wins. Let's discuss the reasons for keeping and getting rid of this event on each side of this debate.
We are going to start off with the reasons to keep the All-Star game. To start off, people still love watching the All-Stars take crazy shots to show their ability. With the All-Star game comes the contest that they did before. These contests include three-point, slam dunk, celebrity games, rookie games, and skills challenges. Many people love watching these contests so they do not want All-star games. Many people still love the new way they do the All-Star game. What they do is have two of the best players in the league draft out of the All-Stars and then you go play a game. There have been mixed opinions on that but it seems like a good amount of people like it.
Now we will be talking about the other side of the story. To begin with, the players aren’t putting in the effort that people like to see. Kobe Bryant once talked about how he liked trying in the All-Star game because people want to watch the best players go head to head. What he was saying was how some people don’t even care to try for the people who watch. Some NBA players don’t even go in the contest like Ja Morant did not want to do the dunk contest. The main reason is players do not want to get injured and ruin their careers. So that is why they talk about getting rid of the All-Star game.

I think they should still do the game just make it shorter the all-star game and just do more contests or put more people in it. I think that Kobe is one of the greatest players in NBA history and I completely agree with him that superstars should treat it like a real game.
I believe they should keep the All-Star game the way it is, as they have made it work for them in the past and present. Allthough some of the players do not take it very serious, other players proceed to take it serious and compete. I think they should not have to compete like it is a regular season game.

I think that they should keep the All-Star game the way it is right now. It's understandable that some players don't give their all because they don't want to hurt themselves and prevent them from doing their best at an actual game. I think that the players who do participate in the game shouldn't give 100%, but they should make an effort to please their fans.
I do agree that it is fun but if the players are not trying their hardest most people think that it should not be continued.
