Should the Johnson and Johnson vaccine be halted?

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is being halted because it is creating blood clots. Since the vaccine has been used there have been six reported rare and severe blood clots caused by the vaccine. All six of the cases were in women from the ages 18 to 48. It happened 1-2 weeks after the vaccination.

I don’t think they should stop the vaccine because there has only been 6 cases out of 6.8 million vaccines. But if it happens in more people then yes they should stop the vaccine until they can make it better. Since they are stopping it they should make sure to test the vaccine before opening it back up to make sure it is safe. They need to make it safer soon so they can open it back up.

It is probably a good thing they are stopping it because then it can’t happen in more people since they aren’t using it. Hopefully they don’t have to close it long since it is the one and done vaccine so it is the easiest to get. When they do open it back up I’m sure it will be safer to use and won’t cause blood clots. I hope they can open it back up soon.

  • Good topic choice Tegan! Your summary is pretty good but also a bit brief. Be sure to continue replying throughout the week. You started and then stopped. You should have had around 24 replies back. -10 late

  • Yes, I believe that the Johnson and Johnson vaccine should be halted. They made this vaccine very fast just like all the other ones. They needed to do more research and more test to make sure it's safe for humans first. People would rather have a safe vaccine rather than getting one fast and it ends up not working.

  • I think that there is a possibility that it was just a coincidence because of the such low amount of people it happend to.  6 out of 6.8 million could be a coincidence if the vaccine was really causing this it would have happened to way more peopl I think.  But I think it is a safe call to stop giving the vaccine for a bit and do some testing just incase the vaccine is actually causing it.

  • I think that all of the vaccinations should be put to halt because they don't have enough test on what the side effects would be on every one and everyone is different and for some people it has a okay side affect and for other people it could make them very sick and feel bad.

  • I think that the Johnson and Johnson vaccine shouldn't be halted. I just think that we should be more careful on who we give the vaccination to. I feel like since there has only been 6 cases of blood clots and they claim to be from the vaccine that it wasn't caused by the vaccine. It may have been from it but there has only been 6/ 6.8 million vaccines that caused blood clots

    • I agree with you I thinnk they are taking these 6 out of 6.8 million people and making it a bigger concern than it really is.  I also think they should be much more careful who they give this vaccine to and I think it is just the safer thing to do and thats why they are stopping it.

    • I agree, it clearly is helping I just feel that it should have furthur testing and they should be cautious about who they give it too until they know for sure how it can effect those with pre-existing health conditions.

  • The johnson and Johnson vaccine shouldn't be halted because if it was halted then millions of people could get the virus and then the whole world would have to get shut down again and I'm almost positive nobody wants that to happen. If that were to happen then the economy would get shut down and the big companies could go bankrupt.  So no, the vaccine shouldn't be halted.

  • I think they probably shouldn't have stopped it but made sure they advertised that there were possible blood clot symptoms. Since they already stopped it they should defintiely do more tests and research and update the vaccine. People are already super hesitant when it comes to the COVID vaccine so doctors need to make sure it is completely safe.

    • I was thinking the same thing. They should have said the side effects and tested it more to make sure its safe and then released it instead of just cutting it off like that because they didnt do enough tests.
