Since 1977 more than 1,480 people have been executed from the death penalty, most people are executed for murder but also some for treason, espionage, and many other crimes. Many say that the death penalty keeps law and order organized but does it?
A lot of people say the death penalty has no effect on crimes it just gives goverment power to take peoples lives. Innocent people get wrongly convicted and put on death row so what about those people. In all truth it is safer and less expensive for a lifetime sentence so why should they take so much money out just to execute people?
This punishment is cruel and unfair, an ignorant solution, and not cost effective in any way so why should it continue?
Do you think the death penalty should be abolished?
What are your thoughts on the death penalty?

Your topic choice is good but your summary is quite brief and you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points.
I think that the death penalty should be abolished because some people are wrongly convicted and they shouldn't have to die for a crime they didn't commit. It's also less expensive to send people to live in prison. The only problem I see is that prisons get full and sometimes their isn't room and they don't know what to do with people.
I belive that the death penalty is good but used wrong, it needs to be used for murder or rape. Yes it migfht cost a lot but it may be worth it dpending on the victom and what they have done.
I think that they should keep it for when theyre is something that is very devastating because if they have it they won't have as many prisoners than they do now. For some crimes it shouldn't be used for but for the ones that are huge I don't see a reason why they wouldn't use it.
I feel very in the middle on if the death penalty should be abolished or not. I do feel like it can be a horrible thing because you are taking away someone elses life and sometimes innocent people get convicted. It seems like an eye for an eye type of deal.
I don't think the death penaty should be for some of the crimes it is being used for but it still should be used for some outrageous crimes such as rape and mass murderers. Also it is expensive costing the goverment a lot spending the countrys tax dollars.
I think that the dealth penalty is bad, but it should still be used for crimes like mass murder. Other than that, the dealth penalty is terrible, and should not be allowed nowadays. Also, the death penalty is very expensive, and will cost a lot.
Well, I don't believe it's right for anybody, even criminals, to kill people, but if it's a serious crime like mass murder. Then we need that person that has done that to be punish greatly.
I honestly hate it when people die. From murder, the death penalty, or even natural causes. But we have to live with the fact that people die all the time. I'm not saying that we should let a person die, when they have a chance to live a good life.
I believe that the death penalty is a pretty messed up system. With America being the only modernized country that still has the death penalty in place, it is due time that we as a society take it away. The system is also very expensive and costs quite a lot in the long run.
I don't think that the death penalty should exist. People who have commited something evil enough that the general public suggests murder as a consequence do not deserve the sweet escape of death. Solitary confinment for life may not sound up to par, but by murdering a murder, it does not make us any better.
