The death penalty is “the killing of a person by the state as a punisment for a crime”. There have been many debates on weather they should keep or get rid of the death penalty. In fact the death penalty is currently only aloud in 27 states now. The other states that got rid of this terrible “punishment” have replaced it with a sentence of life imprisonment with no possibility for parole.
“How does someone get sentenced to the death penalty anways.” There are multiple reasons someone could get sentenced to get executed. Some incldue treason, espionage, murder, huge drug trafficking, or attempted murder.
I personally don’t believe in the death penalty for many reason. First, some people are actually found out to be innocent if they have been executed. Scientist released a study in 2014 that 4% of people sent to the death penalty were actually innocent. They calculated that 30 out of 737 prisoners were wrongly charged and that's just in California. I also think it should be abolished due to the fact that it actually costs more to execute instead of life imprisonment. Normally people would think cutting a person's life shorter would be cheaper but nope. In fact it's 10 times cheaper to imprison someone for life then execute.
Do you believe in the death penalty? Why?
Should they replace the death penalty with life imprisonemt? Why?

Teya,
While your summary is fine, it is brief overall. The topic has been done before as well so be sure to look over the forum posts before choosing next time. You commented back 5 times and you should have commented about 15 times. Commenting is worth 30 points.
I don't think there should be a death penalty because a life of being in prison would be worse. There have been cicumstances where race, ethnicity, or religion have come into play when deciding if someone gets the death penalty.
I think the death penalty is okay in certain casas depending on how extreme the case is. I honestly think life inprisoment is more of a punishment though and should definitely be used more than dealth penalties. I think it should be used only for super extreme cases.
I do think in some cases the death penelty is good however, if a person is really innocent and is sentecnced to death they may be found innocent after they have already been killed. In many cases this is what happend. I don't think it should be a thing unless there is truly enough solid evidence proving someone guilty.
I think that the death penalty is fine however I definetly think that life inprisonment is a better option instead of the death penaltie because I belive that it is a better punishment. Replaceing the death penaltie with life inprisonment would be a better punishment I think than the death penaltie.
I think that the dealth penalty should only be used as a very last resort instead of life inprisoment. I think that living your whole life in prison and suffering would be a lot worse then getting sentenced to the dealth penalty. I don't think that the dealth penalty should be completely replaced but I think it should be used a whole lot less.
I think there should be no death penalty. Sometimes people get in prison mistakenly and when they die they don't have the chance to proof that they are innocent. That would be tragic for the family and the accused. And isn't it worse to be in prison for the rest of your life knowing that you are never going to get back to your normal life. I think that it is worse than just to die.
In my opinion death penalty can be thinked about in certain extreme cases, imprisoning person for a lifetime is already enough, i think we all know that laws have so many flaws in it, so sometimes they may find their way. I also don't think that a murderer does not deserve to live.
In my opinion the death penalty should be used in all states but only under strict circumstances. In some casses over time people have murdered a whole family and had no remorse for what they did sometimes smiling or laughing while being served a sentence. In that case it should be used but in a case where a man looses control of his car and kills someone it should not be used. Although he does need to be punished he should not be put on death row for that.
I understand where you are coming from but what gives the state to pick if they live or die. In Fact there have been reports of race, religion and eithnic background influencing if they get on death row or life imprisonment. I think in the end staring at a blank wall in a cell is worse than just dying thought.
