Should the Countrywide Mask Mandate be Lifted? Well, this might be a possibility as Mississippi Governor, Tate Reeves along with Texas Governor, Greg Abbot announced on March 2nd, 2021, that they will be lifting the mask mandate and allow businesses to open at full capacity. Gov. Reeves wrote on Twitter that the changes in Mississippi will occur on March 3rd at 5 pm, While Gov. Abbot released a statement that declared Texas will lift its pandemic-related executive orders on March 10th. During a news conference on March 2nd, Reeves announced the mask mandate will remain in effect in K-12. Many left-leaning politicians along with Dr. Fauci and President Biden are very against the idea of states fully opening back up. Biden compared Republican governors' decision to lift mask mandates to "Neanderthal thinking,”. Biden has been receiving backlash for his neanderthal comment, many saying it was unprofessional while others saying it was due to Biden’s frustration towards the opening of states.
In my opinion, I believe that removing the mask mandate should be up to the state on whether or not they will require it. I think that states should open back up at full capacity, however, I also think some states shouldn't open back up at full capacity especially if the state has an enormous amount of covid cases which could lead to another covid wave. I also believe that Biden's statement towards republican senators was unprofessional because as president of the United States he should lead by example and calling people neanderthals is not a good example to set.

I think removing the mask mandate could go either way. It could go good and the cases of Covid-19 will stay the same but it will probably skyrocket. I think easing off the mandate like were doing and not just removing them altogether is better. I don't think Biden was professional at all. Biden was not showing a good example.
I think that lifting the mask mandate could go either way. I do think that we should just go back to normal life. Eventually probably most of us will have had covid so why prolong it. If we just go back yes cases will spike but then everyone will be fine again. I still think we should protect the elderly and very at risk people but prolonging the situation isn't going to help. I don't think Biden's comment was at all professional. Saying things like that sound childish and not setting a good example.
I think that we should lift the mask mandate because mask don't really help very many people and the people that want to wear the mask should have to stay home and the people that don't want mask should be able to do what they want to do without wearing a mask.
At this point I think lifting the mask mandate is a bad idea. If we lift the mask mandate everyone is going to go back to big gatherings and how everyone used to be and I believe it'll cause another wave of covid. And all before people get their vaccinations? Why not wait a little longer?
I disagree with you because most of us have already gotten it and their is a vaccination for the people who feel they need it or want to get it. I think we have waited long enough and there needs to be some sort of change. I want stadiums to be filled again.
I agree with Aidan, we have been wearing masks and all the other stuff for long enough, with the rate of vaccinations being given I feel like we should be able to gather again, otherwise what is the point in getting one.
Well I think its nice of them to try to get things back to normal with no masks and all but its too early to be lifting up the mask mandate because I don't think everyone in The United States got their shot yet, unless if they couldn't get it if they were allergic to it or something. Covid is still pretty serious right now so people should be careful but I can't control what the government and state does
I agree with this, in my opinion it's too early to do anything about masks and to change stuff, they are still not required outside so it's not even like you have to wear them everywhere. Covid is still serious at the moment and wearinga mask doesn't make it impossible for you to do some things, it's not a big deal and it ca help a lot.

Yes I think lifting the mask mandate is an excellent idea because most of us have already gotten it and the ones who are at risk, just go get the vaccine. His comment definetly wasn't professional because it just wasn't. At the end of the day though, things just need to open back up again.
