In an average students day they have 6 - 8 hours of classes that they may or may not use after high school. Many times students will ask themselves or teachers why am I learning this, or when am I ever gonna need this in life. Most of the time the teacher doesn't have a response back that answers the question. In high school, there are a lot more options for classes than middle school, but are these classes going to help these students out?
After high school, a majority of students go to college or some type of school. Most of these students don't know many things about living on their own. How to handle money, how to pay bills, housekeeping, time management, these are all things that kids need to know how to do before living alone and most kids don't. Going to college can bring on a lot of debt for some kids and some don't know how to deal with it. Financial classes in high school help with the knowledge of these issues but some kids don't take those types of classes.
Going into college some kids don't know how to cook or clean up after themselves. Some kids don't know how to manage their time with their classes or the stress that the classes bring on. Communitcating with a profressor or maybe a boss is another thing kids need to learn how to do. These are problems that some students go through when they go out on their own. Obvisouly classes in high school about these issues would not solve all the problems, but it could help tremendously.
Do you think that schools should be teaching more classes about life skills?
Would you enjoy classes more if you knew it was gonna help you later in life?

Great topic choice and well done overall Abby! I would have liked to see you discuss the other side as well-what about parents responsibility? There were two pages where you didn't comment but most tof them were done last night so I won't hold it agianst you.
I believe that schools should teach more life skills classes. It would be easier to pay attention in classes that we know we will use in the future. I understand that in elementary school and middle school, students need to know basic math, science, english, and social studies topics, but in high school, I believe that students should be able to choose which classes they want to take, and there should be more life skills classes offered.
I think overall, yes. Schools should be teaching more life skill classes. I think that I would enjoy it because it seems like less of a waste of time. Sometimes, certain classes seem like a waste, but teaching real life lessons wouldn't go to waste. It could end up saving someone that is in a tough spot.
I think that school should be more based on real-life skills. I don't know when I will ever use some of the things we are being taught in classes. School would be a lot more enjoyable because you are learning things you are going to have to use later on in your life when you are working.
Yes I think they should teach more life skills in school since they will help you later in life. There is a lot of different things they can teach you such as doing your taxes, writing a resume, and others. Any of those skills will help you in life a lot. I would also enjoy the class more if I knew it would help me later in life.
I think that more life skills should definately be taught to the studets. I, personally, would find school a lot more important if I knew all the things I was learning I would need later on in life. I know for a fact also that many other poeple would agree and also find school more useful and meaningful.
I think that schools should be teaching more classes about life skills because of how much it can help students in their future. Even though there are some classes that help, we should be offered a variety of them. I would also enjoy classes more, and get more involved if I knew that they were useful.
Yes because it would be helpful for finding a job or wanting to know what your going to do after college. Yes because I honestly find some of my classes to be boring but if they explained how it could help us in life I would probably like going to class more than i do now.
I, personally would like more classes that I knew were going to help me later on in life. I also think that schools should be teaching more classes about life skills. Not all of us are planning on going to college. They might want to go into a trade and, for example, weld. Should we have more classes to help them get ready for that instead of teaching us how to do things we most likely won't use in life
I think schools do try and teach some life skills but I do agree that they should have more classes just to prepare us for life after highschool. I know that a lot of people ask teachers the question "when am I ever going to use this?" I don't know but maybe having an answer would make the people who ask that question try a little harder.
