Do you think Citipointe Christian College was right?

Citipointe Christian College tried to get parents to sign an enrollment contract that says homoseuallity is a sin and should be compared to bestiality, insect, and pedophilia, they have also stated that the gender of the student must align with their sex at birth.

Later they removed the contract and gave their apologize to the families stating that "We deeply regret that some students feel that they would be discriminated against because of their sexuality or gender identity, and I apologize to them and their families on behalf of the college"

What's your opinion? do you think what they did was right?

  • I believe that this could have been handled differently, but there were parts that were right and parts that were wrong. I believe that homosexual people should be able to live life. When people begin talking about all of these gender identities are when I have an issue. If you were born a male, you are a male, and the same goes for females. I think that this topic is being pushed in the faces of younger children so they think being trans is "normal", when it, in fact, is not. Personally, I wouldn't want to be in a public bathroom when an old man walks in just because he "identifies" as a female. People have taken homosexuality way too far, and I believe that gay and lesbian people are fine, because not all of them shove in in your face.

  • I think it could have been handled differently. But they stated their beliefs and what made sense with their religion, there is nothing wrong with that.  They have their own beliefs and have a right to those beliefs. Some of the things said about the gender probably shouldn't have been said. The college could have handled it in a more respectful manner, but they stated what they believed in which they have a right to do.

  • I think that the contract they were trying to sign was really wrong. I don't think they are someone or something to state that it is wrong or correct. I think everyone can have their opinion but you should respect everyone else's. I think as christians they should be the first one to treat everyone respectfully.

  • I think that the approach of the college wasn't necessarily right. I think they could have thought of different ways to say things and make it seem more of their choice. I do see why they are saying this though because of their christian college beliefs and that's what they believe. The people should be able to have their beliefs and they are a christian church just because it's their beliefs.

  • I think the approach of the college was not good if it was actually what you said. I think there is a respectful way to do things, and it wasn't very thoughtful of them to do it that way. I do think it makes sense that a christian college would be honest in stating what they believe though.

  • I do think what the church did was kind of messed up. Many people who have come out cannot control who they like, it is something predetermined while growing up. When they dismissed the contract I believe it was more something that the school would be destroyed it they hadn't.

  • I don't really see a problem with it. I feel like it says in the bible that it is a sin and they are a christain college, so it makes perfect sense to me. Being gay is one thing but when people start identifying as different genders, that is when I start to have a problem with it. I also feel like if they don't want transgender people at their school, they shouldn't have to. They cause more issues than they are worth.

  • I don't think that was right at all. Others may or may not agree what I say about this. I think in ways, that it made the student feel insecure about themselves. There can't do any discrimination towards race, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation and etc. since they are a form of business. I naturally think that man and man / women and women would be just another form of love just like women and man. Nothing different, it's just a form of love. Trans people, I mean, I don't understand it but I wouldn't mind trying to understand their ways. I mean, I do have a trans friend and she is my bestest friend that I could ever receive. I understand your guy's POV by it just being hard to understand and that is what scares you, but what about their POV. They are people just like anyone of us. They have a heart, feelings, a brain, and soul like us.

Sorry for this being long. This topic just frustrates me to space and back. Like why can't we just support each other and love each other. We are human. Yea, we may be different in our own ways but we are also human, capable of love and careness.

  • I do not think what they did was right in any form, regardless of their beliefs. They should have realized that they are a business that is trying to make money. When they outwardly discriminated against a huge demographic, they lost a large amount of money that they could have made.

  • I really don't know which one was right or which one was wrong in my opinion.  It seems really complicated and too complex for me to solve.
