Citipointe Christian College tried to get parents to sign an enrollment contract that says homoseuallity is a sin and should be compared to bestiality, insect, and pedophilia, they have also stated that the gender of the student must align with their sex at birth.
Later they removed the contract and gave their apologize to the families stating that "We deeply regret that some students feel that they would be discriminated against because of their sexuality or gender identity, and I apologize to them and their families on behalf of the college"
What's your opinion? do you think what they did was right?

Danny,
While your topic is interesting, your summary is quite brief. You also didn't reply to any students comments which is worth 30 points. Your topic was also supposed to be posted last week.
I don't believe that the college did anything wrong. It is not disccrimination when it goes against their religion. Personally, I believe that what they did is fine because in the Bible it says homosexuallity is a sin. This would be different if it was a public school but since it's a private college they should be able to choose.
This could have been handled in a different way. However, this comes from a Christain college, so it has its own beleifs, and religion. The people who were offended by this can choose not to be apart of that school or religion if it offended them that much. Then they could be apart of a place that has more of the same beliefs as them.
I do think that they could've handled the situation a little bit differently but they were making the decision based off of their religion. If it was handled differently I believe that it would be okay because they are a Christian college. However, if it was a public college it would be different.
Since they are a Christain college I think you could probably expect them being against homosexuality, however, I dont think they should have done that or gone about it that way. But, as a Christain school I think they were trying to show their expectations.
Because they are a Christian college, you can expect that they would be against homosexuality. However, I believe it is wrong what they said and they could've went about it a more respectful way. It is good that they switched it and apologized.
As a Christian college I think they should be entitled to their own beliefs, but I do not think they handled their opinions well. I don't agree with what they said, or think that it is right, but if they want to set an expectation at their college they should be able to without recieving the hate they did. They could've handled this whole situation better, especially since it came off harsh and disrespectful.
I think that they could have handled it differently, but they stated what their beliefs were as Christains and people have to respect that. I think that what they believe in is totally up to them and should not be recieving a lot of hate. They could've handled it with more respect.
I think that this is very wrong and shouldnt go unpunished. I cannot beilve that they would think this is right. What kind of contract needs to express that and compare it to such terrible things. Atleast they switched it which is good but I cant imagine what it was like going there.
I think what they did was ridiculous. Being a part of the LGBT community is not something that should be compared to bestiality or incest, and it's disgusting that Christians in 2022 would suggest this. It paints a very clear message about how behind the Church is. I don't think they have any right to ask parents to sign these contracts and they are 100% in the wrong.
