Should police funding be redirected toward community programs? although social programs are important to the people of communities around the United States, police funding is needed for training for officers and providing our Law enforcement with needed gear such as firearms, plate carriers, and squad cars. witht the recent ACAB and defund the police movements people are considering taking away police funding and redirecting it to other issues. The issue with this movement is that the people supporting the movement believe this will result in better Law Enforcement when in fact better funding, more training, and better gear would do this. Defunding would result in less confident police with less reliable equipment and worse vehicles resulting in more unneccesarry deaths due to the police fearing for their own lives.

Your topic is good but your summary is brief overall and doesn't have any questions for students to reply to. You also didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points. Police funding should not be used for other things. If we don't fund the police, we can't ensure our safety and they will lack in the equipment needed to do their job. It helps them improve their skills and be well enough trained to keep everyone safe.
I do not think that police funding should be directed towards other things. I believe this because the less funding that the police have, the less experience and training they will have. In turn, this could result in more "police brutality" because they will have a lack of training. Many officers believe that officers that shoot or kill people is due to a lack of training.
I do not think that police funding should go toward community programs. Like you said police need this funding in order to have better training, and better equipment. If anything I think our police officers should get more funding in order to improve the police force.
