Should parents track their kids' location and know where they are all the time? We all know about how technology is advancing. There's multiple apps that parents can always see where their kids are and their driving history and their phone usage. Those apps include Life360, FamiSafe, Gokid, FindMy and multiple more. There are pros and cons to these apps.
The pros of these apps are the safety features that they have. Knowing where your kids are all the time and being able to make sure they're safe is so nice, especially in the world we are living in today. Some of these apps detect when you get into a crash and notify the people who have your location and the police. Another pro is that it holds accountability when kids know they are being tracked they do way less things that they shouldn't do. Lastly it gives parents peace not always worrying if your kid made it home.
However there are cons to having parents track your location. It can hurt the trust between the kid and parent, trust is always something that needs to be earned but not trusting your kid can really strain your location with your kid. Also these apps are not 100 percent accurate and can get kids in trouble for a glitch on the app. Growing up kids want to have their own independence and if parents are always tracking their kids then kids want to just do what they want because their parents already don't trust them.
I think there's pros and cons of tracking. But overall I think its parents not trusting their kids when they should and it will strain the kids relationship with their parents. However, it could also be good just for the safety aspect of these apps.
Do you think parents should track their kids?
Do you have a tracking app on your phone?
If so, What app?

i do not think parents should track their kids, especially excessively. I used to have a tracking app on my phone called Bark. It tracked my location and what I was doing.
I agree with that they shouldn't excessively but I feel like they should just for saftey
I think the idea of having tracking apps is a good thing. Our parents can see if we're safe and they can know if we are where we're supposed to be. Obviously as kids, we may get annoyed that they know where we are. However, I think it's good for us because we know someone could see where we are. I think if a kid doesn't want their parent to know where they are, that's a bad thing and it's most likely for a bad reason. So i could see why kids could get annoyed from it, but I think they should respect their parent's choice on it.
I agree with you parents tracking us and knowing at all times we are safe is a good thing and relives parets from some stress
I think that if a parent feels the need to track their kid the trust is already not there. I understand how kids do stuff they aren't supposed to but that's what being a teenager is for. If you don't make mistakes and get in trouble as a teenager you didn't learn. The safety aspect is great, but if a child has good communication with their parents then it shouldn't be necessary.
Exactly if the parent tracks there kid then there losing trust with there kid
I think that parents should have an idea of where their kids are spending their time at. I do not have a tracking app on my phone but personally I think that tracking apps are stupid because its like they don't trust us. I think that kids and their parent should be able to trust eachother and not have a tracking app.
Exactly if your communicate with your parents then I don't think you should have to have an app unless for saftey when driving.
There are many apps for families to know where each other are. For example, Life360. I don't see the problem if parents track their kids, although sometimes it can get out of hand. I think that you should be able to trust your kids, but it is still very important to know where they are.
I have life360 and parents should be able to trust there kids and not have to stalk them
