As of right now the minimum wage for workers across the United States is 7.25. Many people believe that the minimum wage should be raised to around $10.00, while some people believe that it should be raised to $15.00 an hour. Not all states follow the federal minimum wage. States such as Arizona and Alaska have changed the minimum wage. Alaska's minimum wage is at $10.34 and Arizonas is at $12.15. Many states still follow the federal minimum wage. 21 states still have the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Many states do not believe in only paying the average worker minimum wage.
I personally believe that it would be ok if the minimum wage was raised to something like 9 or 10 dollars an hour. I think it would be ridiculous if it was raised to something like $15 an hour. Many businesses would struggle if they had to pay all of their workers $15 an hour. Then you would have to make it fair by raising other workers wages to make it fair. I also think it would be ok if they raised it just a little because you can not make a living by making just $7.25 an hour. There is no way you would be able to live a decent life. I think it would be ok if they just raised it by a few dollars and kept it at something realistic. I do not think that it is realistic for them to raise it to something like 15 or 16 bucks an hour because many businesses, mainly small businesses, would probably go under and not be able to continue doing what they were doing.

I aslo agree that it would be way to much to raise it to $15 an hour.
For the economy it wouldn't be good necessarily. I mean once you raise wages and stuff then that skyrockets the cost of things, and then that creates debt that some people can't pay. I would personally like it but I know it probably won't happen for a while.
Personally I don't know if raising minimum wages in this economy is a great idea. Knowing big corporations, a lot of people would be getting layed off and we just don't need that added stress with everything finally starting to open up.
I agree with the part about people being laid off becasue of businesses being unable to pay them.
I don't think that the minimum wage should be raised. I think that if the minimum wage is increased that all prices will continue to increase like they are now but even higher. Also, the people that have a full-time job and get paid way higher than the minimum wage won't affect them and would have to pay more for essentials.
I also think that the prices would probably go up at the same time.
In my opinion minimum wage should definitely be raised to an amount that makes sense. Raising it too much might hurt small bussinesses. But also they can cut a little amount from the money that unemployed people make.
